CLIFFORD - Best Parts (1994) Martin Short, Charles Grodin
PLOT: When his brother asks him to look after his young son, Clifford (Martin Short), Martin Daniels (Charles Grodin) agrees, taking the boy into his home and introducing him to his future wife, Sarah (Mary Steenburgen). Clifford is fixated on the idea of visiting a famed theme park, and Martin, an engineer who helped build the park, makes plans to take him. But, when Clifford reveals himself to be a first-rate brat, his uncle goes bonkers, and a loony inter-generational standoff ensues.

i believe the uncle was trying to straighten him out but he couldn't do it I think the reason why the boy acted up was because he loved dinosaur world a lot and he wanted his uncle to marry his fiance sara and at the end he straightened up after that

The uncle should have just given him a delayed reward like hey I’m sorry kiddo but let’s make it a full day extravaganza,then we can spend more time and take Sarah Davis along too! And for your patience I’m getting you a slice of chocolate cake /brownie. And also not ragged on the kids interest, there were so many ways to have done it better suited to this kids temperament .

So much of this is genuinely like my younger kid who is younger than Clifford. Just exaggerated or done in a slightly adult way. So many things . If you had my son but increased his age by a few years and also IQ drastically increased to that of a mastermind you will get Clifford. I find the title character endearing n understand him even if I’m the adult suffering through. Every time Charles Grodin says something to Clifford I thought, no he should have said it THIs way, or done XYZ instead, it wd have made it smooth and easier and the kid would be able to deal better. But I guess that’s part of the comedy
