I lived on Stuyvesant Ct. until 1952....Van Wagoner Ave. from 1955-60.....climbed the old cliff face off Valley Rd. and walked to old quarry and the castle.....great memories.
Lakeview & Merselis! School 11! Go Tigers! When I went there in the late 70s, it looked more like that pic than it does today. Only thing missing is the Rainbow Deli. Go figure.
I was born in 57. Remember when cities were actually communities? People respected other people. My elementary school was named Wilson School, Rumford Rhode Island and two big old brick buildings built decades before. Walked to school about 1/2 mile each way, wind rain or snow, hot or cold. No parents standing on the corner watching us or walking us to school
Can anyone explain the Lakeview and Clifton Ave picture. I can't see where that go to with exist since the picture appears to be taken from a bridge for pedestrian bridge and there are none near that intersection. Was there one back then?
Clifton Photographer There was a railroad bridge at that location. Where the mini shopping center is was elevated and there was a railroad station. Also Getty Ave Park was there.
The policeman on the right standing in front of the car by HQ in the 50s is my dad, Steve Fraunberger. Please tell me where I can get a copy of the picture. I lost most of my photos in the Hurricaine Floyd flood.
