I'm confused. At 3:00 she says that ice sheets melting results in freshwater being added to the oceans everyday, but then right after says that ice sheets melting results in less fresh water for animals on land. How does ice sheet melting impact the amount of water land animals or plants have access to?
@brienYT
@brienYT 3 года назад
I could be wrong but the fresh water is added to ocean which ocean has salt so the freshwater mixes with the ocean that has salt. So animals don’t have a lot of drinking water because salt water can dehydrate you. Also since all the ice is melting, it is releasing unknown diseases which were frozen for who knows how long and now it’s slowly melting until the diseases are free
@geraldfrost4710
@geraldfrost4710 2 года назад
good catch. it didn't make huge sense. perhaps because an alpine glacier can act like a lake stuck on the side of a mountain, melting slowly through the summer. when it's gone, the river doesn't flow in summer. there's still melt water from snow in the spring, but that's not when the downstream is thirsty. this wasn't explained at all.

U had 7 blocks of ice ،one to melt and use daily ،but then global warming started melting one and half daily ،so you have little to drink at the end of week

@@inamsargana604 now you don’t have to melt ice. Still the same amount of water. Sure you can say evaporation, but then again once it rained it would refill the bucket

But in some of the images in the video, it’s clearly just showing a mountain not a glacier? The image that shows the dotted the line along the outline of the mountain…that looks like a mountain not a glacier.
