Hogwash. The weather changes all the time. I've been on this planet for 70 years and the weather has not changed at all. Some years hot, some years cool, some years wet, some dry. It's cyclical.

But it's ok to burn 40 million tires in the desert. But it's ok to burn millions of gallons of diesel fuel to strip mine for the minerals to make electric cars..

In Greece it’s not called Climate Change but bureaucracy and corruption are at fault for the floods neither did the pumps work because never maintained and the money for the generators for keeping the pumps working when the electricity went down got lost on the way. Most of the area used to be a lake which was dried out to become farmland I think in 1967

Global burned area has decreased by one quarter this century! The World is burning less. For the whole of Canada, there is no trend in burn acreage for the period 1980-2021. The previous highest burn acreage was in 1989. Over that same period the trend for number of fires was slightly downwards (CNFDB). Note that 2020 had the lowest recorded burn acreage and number of fires, so can that record be attributed to man-made climate change? Burn acreage was much, much, higher in the US during the 1920's, 30's and 40's. It peaked in 1930 at well over 50,000,000 acres. The trend is downwards (1926-2020 NIFC US) eventhough CO2 has increased exponentially. For 2000 onwards the average burn acreage is much less than 10,000,000 acres. The number of fires has also declined. Remember CO2 was increasing all the time. Burn area for US so far in 2023 including Maui is 3rd lowest on record. Data for Siberia seems harder to come by. However, for the period 1997-2016, the trend was highly variable (by a factor of 4) but the trend for the annual burn acreage was downwards (Global Fire Data). For the Amazon (2003-2019), 2010 was the record year for fire emissions with all subsequent years lower by at least ½. When it comes to wildfires there is nothing unusual about this summer's fire season in Europe (look it up on the EFFIS website). Besides all this the forest fire record in Southern Europe e.g. Greece, is related to the previous winter rains, not summer temperatures. Wetter winters encourage more plant grow, which forms more fuel for fires when it dries out. Mediterranean summers are always hot and dry enough to allow fires to spread. Furthermore, with regard to the IPCC, they have not detected or attributed the number of fires or the burn acreage to man-made climate change. Also IPCC only has medium confidence ( that's a 50-50, so toss a coin) that weather conditions that promote wildfires (fire weather) have become more probable in southern Europe, northern Eurasia, the USA, and Australia over the last century. Note that annual Global Wildfire Carbon Emissions have been declining dramatically since 2003, with 2022 being the lowest on record (Copernicus). "With higher CO2, increased tree cover leads to reduced fire ignition and burned area, and provides a positive feedback to tree cover" (Chen et al, 2019), so burning fossil fuels actually leads to less forest fire! Global burned area has decreased by nearly by 24.2% in 20 years (Chen et al, 2023). The World is burning less! There is no climate crisis...there isn't even any evidence for it.

Here in GB, this year we got off relatively lightly, so far. Weather deaths to me used to mean people who froze to death, or their ship sank in a storm. We used to laugh at our war weary parents who could sit and discuss the weather for hours on end. Then we were free and grown up at no more weather chats to get bored listening to ever again, or so we thought. Progress isn't always your friend, is it?

The solution to climate collapse is NOT more bureaucratic "government" response BUT, rather, we as individual consumers of 18,000,000 BARRELS of oil here in the US, and 100,000,000 BARRELS worldwide DAILY, need to dramatically reduce our PERSONAL carbon footprints instead of needless "pleasure" driving/flying and European vacations, etc. The heat we are pouring into the atmosphere is melting 2,000,000,000 TONS of glacial ice DAILY, and, when that air conditioning system is used up (75 yrs ?), what then? A child born today may well live to see a fireball earth, or Venus 2.0. Feel me?

If pumped at a rate of 1 million m³/s, then the warm water will lead to increased evaporation from the waters of the Red Sea and the Mediterranean Sea and increase atmospheric precipitation by approximately 820 km³ per year. We calculate how much thermal energy per second will be extracted from the Indian Ocean and the Pacific Ocean. 10^6m³/s × 1000 kg/m³ × 4200 J/(kg × °C) × (29°C ˗ 3°C) = 0.11•10^15 W = 0.11 PW (petawatt) The heat flow power of 0.11 PW is comparable to the excess heat received by the Planetary Ocean due to global warming. That is, this system will be able to extract excess heat from the Southern Hemisphere, preventing the melting of the Antarctic glaciers and the rise of the sea level. At the same time saving the coral colonies from death due to the overheating of the ocean waters in the tropical zone. This is like installing the fan. If too many greenhouse gases have accumulated in the room or it has become too hot, we turn on the fan and quickly solve the problem. We apply the slow solutions later. How much energy is needed to pump water at a speed of 1 million m³/s? The evaluations show that at most 33 GW of power. At the price of $0.04 per kW*h the cost of electricity will be $12 billion per year. Is that a lot or a little? If the climate will improve for 1 billion people, then on average $12 per person per year. The package includes 820 km³ of additional atmospheric precipitation. This amount of water is enough to grow food for another 1 billion people. Along with the water from the Red Sea, a large amount of salt will be pumped into the Atlantic Ocean, which will significantly increase the energy of the ocean currents in the North Atlantic. The Golfstream current system will not ruin itself. Thus, the "Suez Climate Machine" will have a global effect, from Antarctica to the Arctic.

I'm glad that the climate crisis is getting more attention in the news. The problem now in the reporting is they keep talking about "preparing" and adapting, but that's just not possible. The change is a moving target and difficult to predict and again rapidly changing. Measures to prepare for the disasters of now will be insufficient in 10 years. We CAN however, prevent it and much of it will self reverse I'd we stop worsening it. We have everything we need to stop emitting greenhouse gases and maintain or improve our quality of life. We just have to do it. And then the warming will stop, and about a 5th of the observed warming will self resolve in couple decades as the methane breaks down in the atmosphere.
