Lots more beauty in the garden this week, a few new containers, and things feeling like they are starting to come together.
Come along, for a casual stroll through the garden.

You’re my favourite gardener to learn from as our circumstances are so similar. We have deer, bunnies, rural large property, full-time work away from home and share the love of sipping a frosty beverage while strolling the garden 🙌🏻. Im trying to be a better gardener and have learned so much from you. Thank you for being such an inspiration!

I love how you are so open to change when plants unexpectedly do not return from last year. And it really adds a lot when you explain what you did have last year and what you are renewing the space with this year. That is absolutely relatable and appreciated!

I love your videos! So relatable and honest. Here in northern Illinois we are already dry, missing rains, lawns starting to brown a bit. Fighting bunnies in my garden and a "cheeky" chipmunk running amuck. My neighbor feeds them. Wish my gardens looked as interesting and full as yours. At 77 I am Fighting the Urge to do more!!

All the wildlife, is totally incredible! We have hedgehogs, bunnies but not so much in the garden. So cute. Nothing in the garden; we're in winter and hanging out for flowers, scent, and wonderful, warm breezes. Got a wee way to go but I do have to mention, not that I'm rubbing it in or anything, but it's nearly the shortest day, then spring is coming our way. Look forward to our next stroll.

Love your garden so natural and easy flowing the way nature is, like the chipmunk running by as you film and the squirrel shaking his tail saying hi on camera, adds to the gardening fun. I have many rabbit families and lots of clover they seem to eat that instead of my plants, might help you too. Enjoy your gin & tonic look forward to the next vid. 🐿🐇🦫

Erin, those green and white Navajo Princess Mangaves, are beautiful and striking, I love them in the border. The foliage on your peony looks pristine. My peonies have almost finished blooming, but they have awful mildew, and I will need to move them this fall to an area with better airflow (or myself to a less humid climate). Wow, that climbing hydrangea is a real showstopper!

I love your garden and I loved when you said you were almost done planting. I stewed over the fact that I still have lots to plant. I do plant annuals in the ground and in planters for two other homes and thankfully they are done. I am hoping to finish up my yard this week if I can work around the storms coming our way. I cannot remember when I have been interrupted so many times for rain during planting time, but rain is good. Part of the reason I have so much left to do is that my Winter Sowing was so successful that I am staring at more plants than I usually have in the spring. I live in Zone 4 Black River Falls WI so we are sort of neighbors.

The container plant choices on your deck are phenomenal. I do think 'standard' containers are beautiful including the PW varieties - but when you take a different approach with quite unexpected plants it produces such a beautiful alternative - much like you would see at a wonderful botanic garden. I appreciate these videos so much. Long, "fancy" edited garden tour videos are great too, but I LOVE seeing the weekly updates. You have so many plants and I feel like the frequent tour videos makes it more likely you touch base on every one of them over the course of the season. It also really gives each one a time to shine/give viewers a better picture of what the plant looks like in the real world over the course of the year lol. Great work!

Your garden is FABULOUS! Love these tours. I am right below you in central Illinois. We have had very little rain. It just blows over us….and now ten days of high 90’s😩 I too have a problem with bunnies and chipmunks. The bunnies ate some of my leaves on my dahlias and I had to put netting over them. Darn rabbits! See you next week Erin. I look forward to your videos.

I got a very small ’Tokyo Skies’ aspidistra from Plant Delights. It’s beautiful and about to go from 2 leaves to 3. I’m very excited. I’d love to get some more. Because it seems to be a slow grower. But for the Plant Delights prices, I’ll definitely be waiting. Hopefully when it’s released by Southern Living they’ll be shipped to the northwest and I can get some more. Your garden looks absolutely gorgeous right now 💙

Greetings from Washington State! I so enjoyed the stroll through your expansive gardens! I have just found you last week or so, but please forgive me if you have answered this already... Are you the lone gardener or do have any help? ( Its wonderfully huge!!) Do you fear the threat of your Climbing Hydrangea of overtaking the building? We loved ours here, and it thrived... too well! I had to cut that thing like crazy pants! We eventually had to cut it down and remove it from the brick fireplace. I miss it so much, I want to replant one! It was down our North path and it was a happy camper. Thank you soo much for your generous time and tours! I love the informal chat as we go and you are so good at giving the names of the plants you show. Blessings from the great Pacific Northwest! 💛🖤💛 Stacy

All those hostas and the deer went for that 1 annual? There is a lot of deer pressure here(N.J.) but at the moment it's quiet with the moms and new fawns in the woods but look out...this quiet wont last. I've gotten pretty good at my choices of perennials and annuals so I'm not just feeding the deer. BTW the garden with the Lady's mantle is stunning and I assume it's because it is not over crowded with a lot of different plants..more formal. Gonna be hot here too and I need to go water containers. Have a good one.
