The Sawtooth Ridge is a classic route that connects Mt. Bierstadt (14,060 ft) and Mt. Evans (14,270) in Colorado's Front Range, not far from Denver. Please come along as my son and I (young and old) attempt to complete this challending climb aand traverse.

This route can be done is a long day and requires some exposed, class three scrambling, Typically you would first climb Mount Bierstadt then descending the east side of Beirstadt near the top of the Sawtooth ridge heading to Mount Evans.

I know what you mean. I was raised by a single mother after my father moved away to remarry and join another family. I saw him on the occasional holiday and a couple of weeks each summer. I would say to join some positive groups and get out there for some inspiration if you can. You'll find your way and then become the one who inspires. Fair winds!

Thankfully my son slowed down for me. Hopefully you’ll get a chance to visit Colorado and maybe hike a 14er for yourself.

Great record of your venture! Not exactly our backyard but close (10 mi.. LOS) Got caught once on decent of the Sawtooth 'in' a thunder storm. Snuck up on me from the East. Being inside the cloud, now that would have made an interesting video also! Lots of noise, light and St. Elmo's fire.

That sounds scary. But now you can tell the story. There I was... :-) I was a little worried about the weather, since it is such a long climb and I am not very fast, but we were fortunate and had sunny skies almost all day.
