Climbing together with someone is always motivating, and if this someone is Adam Ondra is even better. We tried a couple of new routes in Arco during the last days, and this video is the result. Video: Nunatak Film Edit: Enrico Veronese
You are just a likeable guy! You stand for me for the climbing sport and its peculiarity that (all) athletes work together instead of against each other, although you are so competitive. I just had to let this out :D Ps.: impressive language skills
What a great message - “if you want to climb and get better, climb with other people. Me and Adam want to push grades and so we’re climbing together. If you want to come push grades with us, please come!”
This for me is the coolest and hardest thing to describe to other people that don't climb. The climbing community is so open that even the greatest in the world welcome and encourage others to climb as hard as them. It's like a famous footballer turning up at a random 11-a-side match and joining in.
@@nathantvedt8300 nah he's totally fine here, it basically would be sitting in the rope. If he'd fallen while setting up the kneebar though, it would have been pretty bad, because his leg would catch the rope and he'd be thrown upside down. He's doing it this way because he needs to clip, but he has to be really careful/confident while doing it
I have been dreaming of moving to Italy for a long time and it's finally happening in April. Super excited to check out the climbing around Arco, lets have a climb!
That is a great thing to see. Two super strong and motivated climbers sharing the stoke and climbing together, fighting on some hard projects!!! We need to see much moreof that in the climbing world!!! That motivates me and surely many other climbers to train and climb harder!
Wow, thanks for the invite to climb on the project with you Stefano. I'll book my flights tonight. Is it okay that I can only climb 6c? I also need to know if the crag does rental shoes
When you are trying hard projects like this, how do you balance these routes with staying fit and healthy? I've always struggled with trying things near my limit repeatedly and not losing strength gains.
I'll be there in a few months, Stefano. I look forward to taking you up on the offer to climb together. Now, how do I jump from a 7a+ to a 9a+ in 3-4 months?
I recently progressed from 7a to 7c in just a few months and I think the biggest factor was just learning to read and dial routes. The power was already there (started off bouldering, V7 on moonboard), but I lacked the ability to make moves easier for myself. Its really essential (for me) to know harder routes by heart and try to perfect every single move, including, or maybe especially, the easier ones. Hope it helps.
@@alexbarcovsky4319 lol, if you climb 7A+ on the moonboard, and only 7a route, ofc your progression is fast. You probably had never spend any real time climbing routes before this. That doesn't mean the same progression is possible for everybody else. You essentially were way too strong to only climb 7a.
@@madraven5915 Thats is correct and I am aware of that, still though, many (if not most) people nowadays start off with bouldering so this advice would still probably apply to majority. If thats not the case for our friend up there then my advice would be to boulder more lol.
That wall where Excalibur is looks ridiculously blank on the video. Would be cool to actually see it. I'm sure it looks even more intimidating in nature. Its amazing that people who can climb on it even exist :D
Hey Stefano, do you have an any interest in projecting La Dura Dura? If not, why do you think that route seem to get so little attention from top climbers?
I'm curious how the sponsorship thing works when you guys climb together. For example for the quick draws. Do you do half and half? Are you not allowed to use the footage if you send with other branded quickdraws on the wall?
Considering his achivements in Worldcup Finals for so many years, and the Fact that he climbed 9b+ on Rocks, he seems to be a very humble guy. Unfortunately the Sportclimbing Routes don't always suite his style. Although he reached Finals so many times, but not so many Podiums.
@@zacharylaschober Lots of comp boulders of a similar nature which involve a technical sideways jump off good feet to a faraway but decent hold (decent when you hit the hold precisely). I don't think this kind of movement is common outdoors and even then there's more often than not a way to avoid going dynamically.
Such a sick video from both of you climbing together. But... did anyone notice the amount of mistakes made by the film-maker with those horrible zoom angles cutting adam's body so many times when he started climbing at minute 10:00 ??? When you go working with such elite climbers you gotta do your best, especially if the climber sends the route which is what Adam did. My humble opinion 🙂
So what? It's not a professionally produced channel like Adam's. Filming on ropes is notoriously complicated and they might not have the budget for all the equipment and lenses.
