The biggest difference between both the teams is that Afghanistan played like professionals whereas pakistan played like amateurs Afghanistan played less dot balls and they didn't allowed pakistan bowlers to settle down, whereas pakistan played timid cricket and it was all thanks to babar azam who didn't made any effort to play attacking short before his 50,if a batsman like him play with such attitude then how can he be called a top or best batsman Even his body language on the field was terrible. The problem with Pakistan in their planning was they must have never considered a possibility of losing to Afghanistan.Pakistan before the match started had thought that two points were already in their pocket. They had to simply show up and Afghanistan will fold up. This did not happen and Afghanistan came up with a plan. Pakistan was not prepared for this eventuality hence they lost .This was due to the history of Afghanistan having never beaten Pakistan on seven meetings in ODI.
I Don’t think so. We have had close games against Afghanistan in the recent past so I don’t think Pak would have taken them lightly. This team is low on confidence and timid & defensive approach with the bat is the root of the problem. We lack power hitters. The bowling is not clicking either. Should have picked a specialist spinner such as Abrar instead of bits and pieces spinners. Amir should have been selected after the injury to naseem shah. Amir bowling in tandem with shaheen shah would have been a more effective pace combo. Rauf is just leaking too many runs. Pace is useless if you cannot swing or seam the ball. England’s Mark Wood is having similar issues. This team is just not good enough to reach the semis. After todays loss it is game over for Pakistan in this cup.

Because he is not capable enough to play long innings. He don't have technique. Look at his previous dismissals. Apart from 150 against Nepal, he doesn't have any long inning. He had full time and chances against India and Australia. Bur he couldn't perform . He is T20 type batsman, who is good enough only for 8-10 overs max.

As following Noor Ahmad since age of 14 while he was playing in Australia at that age and I always rated him just up to Rashid Khan’s level and calling on the coaches since first match for Noor’s inclusion in playing 11 finally they done the right thing .
All does not seem well in Pakistan Team from the clues taken from this debate. Afghanistan team deserves Kudos for emerging victorious. Kamran bhai has fairly spoken facts on Pakistan performance today while Rashid Bhai was soft in criticism of Pakistani players display. He instead took an easier path of praising Afghani players & also partly blamed wicket for playing better for batters in second half. Good job Afghanistan !
