CLINIQUE 🆕 Dramatically Different Hydrating Jelly Review and Comparison to Original Version

**The price I listed in the video is incorrect, the full size is $28 for 125ML** I was excited to finally get my hands on the new Clinique Dramatically Different Hydrating Jelly. I grew up using the very first, original, yellow version (the Clinique Dramatically Different Moisturizer) but finally abandoned it after realizing my skin just needed more. The new Clinique Dramatically Different Hydrating Jelly goes over skin quite easily and absorbs rather quickly. This was an issue I had with both the Clinique yellow "dramatically different" moisturizers is that they both just sat on top of my skin for a few minutes before fully absorbs. The second yellow moisturizer was a lot better than the first (which was created with water, glycerin, mineral oil, and petroleum as its first ingredients.
Like it's precursors, the Hydrating Jelly is free of denatured alcohol and fragrance free. This contains some antioxidants, but those are mostly from algae. This is a rather simple formula but this would be best used with a full skincare routine so that your skin isn't starved of antioxidants, peptides, and AHA/BHA's. This definitely has a place in a good skincare routine, I've been using this in place of where I usually use my normal serum and been pretty happy.

I love your reviews I've said this before but literally your criteria is the exact same as mine. I WISH more people in the beauty community were as informed with no denatured alcohol and fragrances and citrus being phototoxic. Keep up the good work and your channel will grow!

I bought Dramatically Different Hydrating Jelly today, the girl of Clinique told me that I have to keep using the 3 steps, that I should apply it like "step 4" to seal my skin from pollution and then the city block 40 SPF. It feels great!

I recently went to a Clinique counter to discuss their product line. I found out some special things about the Dramatically Different Hydrating Jelly, Gel and Lotion. The first is it’s meant to be done in their 3 step care. So the soap, then clarifying lotion to wipe away dead skin, and then Dramatic Different. The last of the three steps is more like a skin softer or essence lotion that prepare the skin to receive the serum and more suitable moisturizers. You’ll use less of the other product because you have already started to moisturize the skin. The cartridge are for people who maybe need to just add one thing and such uneven skin tone or pore minimized. I also want to mention that I have been looking at the expire dates after opening products. I think that’s important too because you could be using expired products on your skin. Clinique has generous expire date. 6 to 24 months after opening. Allots changed since this review. But I always watch the whole thing for the run down.

Clinique loves to push their three step set. I really recommend avoiding any of the Clinique toners, they all have large amounts of denatured alcohol in them (with the exception of the turnaround line). Although most of their cleansers are pretty basic, I would still recommend using a different brands cleanser if you have sensitive skin or are sensitive to sulfates. Still enjoying the jelly, especially with winter coming soon. 😃😃

It’s so surprising that Clinique’s not cruelty free. Get with it, Clinique! Lol;) This actually sounds really nice, and the price is even nicer. My skin’s more on the dry side, but I imagine this would be great for others. (especially if they were cruelty free😊). Thanks for the great review!
@NOBSBeauty
@NOBSBeauty 6 лет назад
You are so welcome! I really wish Clinique was cruelty free unfortunately most brands owned by Estee Lauder are not. I think in the next few years we are going to see an even bigger push for these brands to be cruelty free. This moisturizer is so good for normal-sensitive skin, I'm enjoying it and it's much better than the yellow versions that I started out using as a teen. 😁

NO BS Beauty NO BS Beauty Lol, I used the yellow too when I was young(er);) I definitely think that more and more companies will continue to become cruelty free. They would gain so many more customers. I think my mom may be using the original yellow. She has pretty dry skin, so I don’t think this would work well. Her skin is also quite sensitive. Maybe the supercharged would suit her well. I use a few different kinds, one being FAB’s ultra repair cream. She’s trying out a sample I had given her and I believe is liking it. I love it. Is the ultra repair hydrating serum less moisturizing?

Of course the product shouldn't be used on its own, its the third step of Clinique cleansing/balancing the skin, its never meant to offer intense hydration or additional ingredients for benefits, thats what their treatment lines are for.

I would think you should be able to add this in with no problems, that is what I've done, however, I have heard from a few people that this sadly caused them to breakout. It doesn't contain many acne or pore clogging ingredients so unless you read the ingredients list and see one that you specifically know your skin doesn't handle we'll think it's worth giving a try. I personally love using this on my neck and decollete because it isn't greasy and doesn't stain my clothes or shirts.

The Bonajour Green Tea Water Bomb Moisturizer- another light gel moisturizer with no fragrance, great antioxidants, and super affordable! Another is the Hada Labo Perfect Gel - gel texture, large container, no fragrance in it. The Isntree Aloe Soothing Gel is another one worth considering, especially if your skin gets red often- very soothing gel texture and a little goes a long way. One more worth considering is the FaceTheory Supergel Oil-free Moisturiser M3 - great for fungal acne prone skin, fragrance free, and an HG for a lot of people that love gel moisturizers. Hope this helps- I should do a video on this topic!

Hi Nobsbeauty, I have been using this product for almost a year now and i love it. It will get me by in winter but for the brutally cold winters like when temps get in the single digit it doesn't suffice. My question for you is that I notice that the clinique moisture surge supercharged concentrate is in a jelly form as well. If you had to compare these two formulas how would say they differ? Are both formulas similar? I am thinking about purchasing it (even if it's a sample size?.

@shauntelowe2
@shauntelowe2 5 лет назад
@@tweewin I would say the Clinque jelly kept me moisturized until like early December or we just going to say until January. My skin is combination. Oily t-zone and dry cheeks. However I do full facial routine (facial cleanser, toner, eye and face serums, eye and face moisturizer and spf). I don't wear foundation or eye shadow and sometimes will wear mascara and eye liner on a frisky day😂. If I didn't do a entire face routine it's uncertain if this clinique jelly will hold. I tried the clinique super charge concentrate and I like it. Personally I think its slightly heavier then the jelly. Its something I can see myself wearing when the temps are little cooler.

@@tweewin you are welcome. Sometimes even seeing an esthetician is helpful. I know I need to see one so I can be 100% with my skin. I'm just going off of my skins behavior along with the weather but I have never seen one which is important if you are into skin care. I used burts bees wipes the sensitive wipes and it irritates my skin. Sometimes its literally all about ingredients. Too much citrus and fruits I have notice has irritated my skin. I love the juice beauty but It has so much fruit enzymes in it. It doesn't irritate my skin but I do believe if I use it on the daily basis it will. I just believe that products made in China have a more likely chance of contaminants. I don't give my dogs any treats or food from China either. About ten years ago I amount lost a dog to contaminants that was in his treats from China. Yeah, if you actually watch undercover videos (tons on RU-vid) from factories in China, you'll soon realize there are many MANY chances and higher rates of adulteration of products with bad, cancer-causing ingredients. The companies take shortcuts to make larger profits. Even food is adulterated with plastics. It's super bad. My coworker's relatives even asked for baby formula every time she goes back to visit annually b/c there's poison in the baby formula there. You can't trust all the companies and don't know which one is actually good.
