I get what you mean when you say it’s a romantic, chocolately berry. The tone reminds me of my favorite lipstick, Maybelline’s “Crazy for Coffee” cream lipstick. Not a berry shade but there’s something about it that pulls rosey on me and it’s marketed as a nude. Idk why no one talks about that shade but it’s so nice!

I love the look of this one but i cannot stand the perfume in maybelline's products. I can taste it and its disgusting :c so i had to stop purchasing.

Know what I want? Years ago there was a black honey pot gel cream liner and an eye pencil. The pot liner got some traction, but the pencil was magical. The perfect quirky, murky, plum/red/brown pencil that smudged beautifully and brought out the amber and green in my eyes. Perfect eye for the office.

This is the first I'm hearing of the gloss! I've had black honey for at least 15 years now. I have always wished it wouldn't cling to dry spots. And now we have a gloss!! I'm on a summer no-buy. But this may be my one September purchase!

So it is 7pm my time just after watching this video… I was at Petsmart with my husband and son and let them know I HAD TO GO TO ULTA because my store had it in stock. Omg!!! Run out and get this. My husband even said my lips look luscious 😘 I have been a user of black honey for 39years. I love lip gloss. So this is so exciting for me. I will be trying them together too! And I may have purchased Cover Girl mascara, UD Solstice Eye shadow, and and Elf cream shadow in Sand Dune…

This was super helpful! Thank u 💜 I just recently bought the original and honestly I've noticed my lips have started to be really dry and I take really great care of my lips so this is the only thing that is different in my routine I'm shocked that it's drying out my lips since everybody loves this product so much. I'm looking forward to trying the lip gloss since I would imagine it would feel more hydrating thank you. 🙂

So excited to try this! The original black honey it has been the only lip product I've worn pretty much my entire life. Everything else is always too much. And thank you for mentioning scent. I'm super sensitive smells and I cannot do a lip product if it scented.

6 months late to the game, but I got the Clinique black honey lipstick about 6 months ago lol I'm so excited to see they made a gloss and it's better! The lipstick I find kind of darkens in any sort of crack I have in my lip unless I roughly exfoliate before applying. Which I obviously don't do before running into the store or work. Well, thanks so much for this review, I gotta try the gloss now 💗💗

I am excited for this! The black honey lipstick didn’t really appeal to me that much…I don’t really know why. But this gloss is really grabbing my attention. I’ve been thinking about wearing something like a red lipstick for my wedding…except I don’t really like most lipstick, let alone the kind of red lipstick that you have to kind of fuss with. But this color looks like it could give me the romantic, somewhat vintage vibe that I want without being fussy, maybe because of how flexible and buildable it is. Anyway, great review, and thanks for bringing this to my attention!

I have been using Clinique products since my teens and over the years I must of had at least 20 Black Honey lipsticks because I either bought them or they were gift in purchase. I have tried so hard to love this product because everyone else loved it. Last year I even bought all the drugstore dupes and guess what? They are all sitting in a drawer because I just don't care for the chocolate tone. So, I'm done trying, but I just got the same lipgloss in the pink color and I love that and the pearl cheek pop blush in Ruby. Amanda you'd love the Ruby color ans sheen on these.

For those of you who want a "base" before the gloss - Bobbi Brown Telluride lipstick is also basically this same shade. Amanda, you made me buy the gloss, after having tried to like the Almost Lipstick a couple of times but was always underwhelmed. You are right, the gloss is better!

Yes Amanda!!! I was wondering when somebody would review the lip gloss! I learned that with my dry lips, lip products with hyaluronic acid tend to not be moisturizing for me, the opposite actually. Heck, right now I have on the Charlotte Tilbury Happikiss lip balm and it's uncomfortable. With these types of products, I have to put on an actual moisturizing lip balm underneath.

I believe C's OG BH is pH/temperature sensitive. It goes on dark & lightens on me. I believe I looked at ingredients & it has the key ingredient.

I like the idea of the almost lipstick, but I don’t like it that much. I agree with the drying feeling. It doesn’t feel very moisturizing or balmy on me. My lips feel dried out by it that they almost look thinner.

I cannot stand tack in my lip glosses or lipsticks. I prefer the discontinued Becca balms (in Chocolate) and Prescriptives glosses. To me, there is nothing worse than lips sticking together as I have experienced with many Clinique glosses and lipsticks. I have the Clinique Black Honey in gloss tube and pot, but have assiduously refused to buy them for years because of this 'sticky' issue. Nonetheless, I thank you for your suggestions. It looks great on you!

I have both and personally I like the lipstick way better than the gloss. I find that the gloss pools and is nowhere near as buildable because of that. The finish of the original is way prettier and I reach for it way more than the gloss. Just my thoughts though :)

I personally prefer the lipstick as it’s more versatile (buildable unlike the gloss) and more matte, which to me looks better in professional settings.
