Il giorno (la notte) che piazza Navona (Roma) ballò Era un Luglio romano di quelli che “ti li raccomanno”: giravi l’angolo e ti si piazzava un phono in bocca. Ma allora Roma sprizzava vita e gioia ovunque ed era bellissima. Quando li vidi arrivare, a Fiumicino, rimasi di sasso : erano fatti come le cocuzze. Loro ci guardavano incuriositi e si domandavano chi cazzo mai fossero questi che avevano organizzato un loro concerto in quel di Roma quando loro non erano mai usciti da Brixton. Quando arrivammo a Piazza Navona mi è venuto un collasso: era piena 2 ore prima del concerto. Loro fumavano ma anche bevevano rum gelato da spaccarti i denti e lo stomaco. Nei giorni precedenti erano però accadute delle cosine interessanti: il nostro PRINCE FASTER aveva pompato come da matti l’evento e il colpo finale lo aveva dato Ernesto Assente con una recensione sulla Repubblica. Stavamo oramai a 10-15 mila persone e la piazza era piena di fumo che sballavi respirando ma mai avrei immaginato che avremmo superato le 20.000 persone . I 2 giamaicani di Londra, oramai, erano letteralmente fuori come i balconi e quando salirono sul palco non ci fu nessuna ovazione. TRE minuti dopo la situazione esplose: alle prime note musicale ci fu l’apoteosi. 20 mila persone acca calcate , fumate e bevute, appiccicose di sudore come noi. “Sa a abballava, e come se s’abballava! Quando vidi ragazzi e ragazze nude che stavano sopra la fontana del Bernini e qualcuno che cercava di scalare l’obelisco pesai che fosse la fine All'opera del Bernini non fu fatto niente e forse anche lui si e’ divertito da matti Alle 2 di notte, al 3^ comunicazione del questore togliemmo la corrente e il concerto finì ma parti un corteo per il centro di Roma :ballava e suonava Probabilmente l’ultima festa a piazza Navona e l’ultimo respiro di Roma prima di sprofondare.
