Andrew Voss and James Magnussen ask the tough question to RLPA boss Clint Newton Listen Live: www.sen.com.au/listen-live-sen-sydney/ Follow our socials! TikTok: www.tiktok.com.... Instagram: / senleague
Disappointed in Vossy, when asked what claims does he not agree with he didn’t point to 1, kept going to player strikes when that’s the most extreme action.
The "Im just a fan" ploy is a little transparent.. and tbh vossey shouldn't be coming from that angle anyway, he is in a position to exercise some journalistic integrity and give both sides of the story, its fine to press Clint but unless its going both ways then its clear to see the underlying agenda
He's not a journalist, just see a lot of these talking heads. Not seeing many actual journalists writing any articles. I do not include the idiot should heads for Fox on 360 in this
Why haven't we seen Abdo/PVL on any of these shows attempts at roasting one side? And the persistent question of 'Will the players strike for games' ... This is just mining for a headline. If it happens its because the NRL have stuck their head in the sand & expect the media to dig them out by making the RLPA the bad guys
Not the biggest fan of Vossy's over the top commentary, but still respected him... until now. Painful to listen to him repeatedly cutting off Clint Newton
Watching these media commentators and ex players in media there is just one way to explain their aggression. They know which side their bread is buttered on. They are NOT neutral interviewers.
What part of the claim are so outrageous?....thats for u to hammer out ummm when are u stepping down...Vossy fans are over your propaganda thats the truth.
As a fan, I stand with the players. It’s funny how commentators and former players are spewing the NRL propaganda and making it look like it’s the players fault or that they’re greedy. What upsets me the most is the attitude of former players turned media personalities like Tallis going against the RLPA and undermining what the players are fighting for.
That's because Tallis is fighting the last war. He says he doesn't understand the situation and then turns around and makes direct comparisons with what he experienced. Truly bizarre but I guess that sums up Gordon Tallis.
I'm sure vossy didn't realise but calling Clint a 'boss' is, unfortunately, language used throughout history by the business groups/media interests. Union reps are voted in through a democratic ballot they aren't 'bosses'
Keep it up, Clint and RLPA. I’m “just a fan” but I’m with the players. One comment I’d like to add…why do the Australian players have to pay the players of Tonga, Fiji, PNG and Samoa, out of their own pockets for international games? Get your argument straight before you attack the players, Voss. I’m sick of this disgusting behaviour by the media fools. Their vested interest is so glaringly obvious it’s sickening.
Lol all of the fans know that the 37% increase was agreed upon last year. The fact that it can still be talked about is hilarious. And saying that all the fans are caught up on it is even more ludicrous. So happy everyone is seeing through this garbage 🤣
Game set match thank you for fronting Vossey & James. Clint you ever thought of going into politics Australian Unions needed a bloke like you during covid.
We stand with Clint and the players. Disappointed in Vossy in this one. Using his spotlight to belittle and repeat misinformation. James was smart by keeping quiet and only asked good enough questions
@@wildeturkey2006 Rugby League is a Deadlier game then those wearing pads... Inches wrong in Rugby League can mean death. And a player in that situation is retirement damage
Yeah 😂😂😂 but nrl players don't earn the same money as USA SPORTS PLAYERS. have a look at the NBA - MLB - NFL. GOOD ON THE PLAYERS FOR STANDING UP FOR FAIR WORK RIGHTS
@@wildeturkey2006 its safer but the damage is more worser Then before. Unexpected angles can kill a mans career... I guess you have never been on the field before. Not like the 80', they all expected to hit, and also hit back even harder. Today wrong angles, bad position, and unfit ness will send you home for life... Not funny when your not looked after...
Think Vossy is one of the better commentators in the game, but its very clear that him along with other media personalities have a pretty big conflict of interest here
He asked a very simple question regarding how many players actually know wtf is going on. Clint couldn’t answer it as per usual, 20 months of him dodging questions.
@@thewetwombat7726 not the win you think your comment is. Most of the population havent read all the documents or understand what they are signing ie employment, loans, etc. Do you think all the teachers, emergency services workers, tradespeople, understand what their union is pushing for.
Clint is going to be a politician. Divert & deflect all questions while answering the questions you want to answer. Not the questions you were actually asked
Divide and Conquer is what Vossy is trying to do here by reading Peter Vlandys e-mail,he earns NRL money, because he's a Vlandys minion ffs.. Meeting with the ACTU Leader makes sense,League is a working class game, and this is a dispute with an Employer and meeting with someone who has experience in disputes makes sense.
9:50 speak for yourself Vossy. There's been multiple players explaining the issues with examples on multiple platforms. There's the document you refer to as well. I don't have any trouble, try harder it's your job.
Vossy is a chump, you can’t expect 500 players to be across this at the same level of details like the senior players are. Like in any other organization you trust that your leadership will represent you and be across all the issues. Of course when the media selectively talks to junior players they’re going to get responses like “oh I’m not really across it” but I bet what they’re also saying is that I trust that the RLPA and our senior players are representing us. Clint is going around owning all these media types on their shows, it’s embarrassing.
@@plc2866 If they can't manage venue hire, security and cleaners, food/drink servers for less than the players are getting thats ridiculous and doesn't happen in any other entertainment event. Grass roots don't get that money, owners of the stadiums do and the NRL / club owners
They do, but theyre paid by the networks who are in a deal with the NRL, so their incentive is to make as much money as possible also, theyre being told what to say, theres a few of them with a level of integrity and best they can do is stay quiet or theyll be out of a job next time theres media cuts.
The players need to come out and say they back Newy and stop this BS of the media goin after this bloke. Clint Newton is there for the players. He does the what the players want him to do
Very informative interview, best one explaining the situation I have seen so far. But haven’t watched many either 😂 Respect all 3 of them blokes in the interview tbh
God, this is getting tedious . Hope we don't miss out on any footy , all the fans united with the players make me lol if they are successful, it's gonna get ugly.
Good on clint and good on the players stuff the nrl and the people runing the game hope the players get everything they ask for,the nrl is turning into a joke and i hope the people can see that now
I'm still no clearer on what the players are asking... Clint what part of our claims are unreasonable.... I wanna know exactly what the claims are. Clint is never clear on this and vossy is no better
Clint dodges questions like they are going out of fashion. He’s like a new hire that comes in and wants to change everything so he has a reason to keep his job. Once he runs out of ideas he won’t be needed anymore. He needs to go and get someone else in. These things are called negotiations, not, I want more more more more more. Haven’t heard 1 thing he’s happy to compromise on.
What's soo outrageous about any of those 100 claims on the website? - Ummm, that there are 100 of them? If your idea of negotiation is discussing your list of requests / demands is by coming back with more to the next meeting? And now you have 100 of them? I fully understand none of us has sat in these meetings, but if its 'not that hard' what have both sides been doing for the last 20 months???
Clint Newton is not the man for this job. He's not clear or concise. Sounds like he wants more power than the NRL is happy to give him. Basically he wants profit sharing. Isn't the player association about representing the players? Then the players are making a power grab. Players Association wants to control the NRL model and it's future. He literally said it. I understand the NRL kickback. Results speak. Walk away Clint.
Clint is out of his depth and is beginning to look very stressed. Calling facts stated by the NRL "malicious attacks" is very strange to say the least. What does he expect the very experienced and successful negotiator V'Landy to do -just give in to the RLPA's demands? Clint even wants to "reset" the international game but rejects non Aussie players (many he is meant to be representing) getting more money - strange stuff.
If it’s what the players want then having someone else do it will just be changing the face not the substance of what they are boycotting for, Not to mention do you really think just because he leaves then the nrl will be happy to bring in a independent mediator and try and work out a fair cba😂hell no Clint or not they know what they are willing and not willing to budge on because this is the reason we are here in the first place
@@jackohere1878I’d say it is malicious when you feel the need to bring up a persons wages when negotiating employee rights especially when the wages he brings up he’s making 10 times more then😂why are the nrl so opposed to a independent mediator? Rlpa have put there cards on the table why haven’t the nrl?
@@LT-sz1fj They had a mediator-RLPA now want another of their choice. Players wages are not even public like many other codes eg NFL and they were part of the negotiation where the RLPA got very good deal so to bring that up is certainly not malicious at all is is stating a fact. Clint said he would step aside if that meant getting a deal done so NRL offer to take Abdo out in return but now Clint ain't going nowhere it seems. That in itself shows a lot.
@@markburt7895 bloody oath. He be making a pretty penny out of all this too. Keep people in the dark and and watch your bank account grow. Got to love lawyers, lie to their own grandmother.
What a waste of time, Newton is on a power trip, butting heads with V’landys is not the go, 700 bloody players need to step up instead of being led like Sheep and have the wool pulled over there eyes
NAIVE??? @vosyis the fact that most fans "DO" understand and support what the nrlpa is doing ffs. You say you talk on behalf of the game but really your narrative here is for/on behalf of media/broadcasters which clearly shows. How hard is it to secure/protect the main asset which is the "PLAYER/S"🫣
Are the rlpa or nrl asking for differences in the new one to the 2017 one?. Not sure but newton is such a likeable fellow. I was on nrl side at first but why do media attack newton and rlpa so much?, it’s irritating and now I support rlpa as they have not changed anything they are asking for. I don’t care at all about players being interviewed. Nice change to have coaches they seem less grumpy too!
