Hey thanks, this video was really helpful. I recently started playing the guitar and I was on the fence about what type of tuner to get. The feedback was exactly what I needed to decipher between the 2 tuners I was considering!
just bought the daddario clip on and love it! Put on backwards its unseen from the front. Also bought the Micro that attaches to the tuner for my Martin. Ive also got multiple snarks. they work well but hideous looking.
I've a couple of those D'addario micro tuner and D'addario Eclipse for each guitars. I also have those Flamma clip ons which I don't like because it uses microphone instead of piezo sensors to detect vibrations. It picks up the background noise (TV) when I'm tuning.
Does the D'Addario tuner show sharp/flat for tuning to Eb? At least my Polytune Clip shows a sharp so I can easily do those half-step tunings. Most of my guitars are in D standard as well. Hoping the D'Addario Micro can do it because I bought one and it's due to arrive tomorrow 😁
Nice! Curious how you feel about using a tuning app on your smartphone? I used to have lots of tuners laying around and they feel obsolete now...I've always got a great tuner in my pocket!
I've got guitartuna on my phone as well. It's never as accurate as I'd like it to be. I use it in a pinch, and I bet the tech is just going to get better and better until it's totally awesome. The mic on the iphone is for sure sensitive enough. Thanks for your note!
I have tried them all. I sold all but 2 . . . my (2015) Snark SN-8 (even bought a hard case for it) & I have a TC Polytune 3 on my pedalboard. These are the 2 with the best note detection for my: electric, acoustic & bass. I love & highly recommend both. I am interested in the On Stage GTA4500 Rechargeable Clip-On Tuner ?
Snarks fall apart fast. I like Polytunes myself. We have the same taste in guitars, I am holding a 1999 Taylor 314 right now and there's a whale blue PRS on the wall. Keep the videos comin' !
No way! The 314/prs combo! That is so cool. Yeah. I have a snark graveyard in my studio. They totally fall apart. I like the polytune foot pedal a lot! I haven’t tried the clip. I have the peterson strobe clip. Don’t love it. I love this little d’addario for $12. It’s pretty darned good. Thanks for your note!🌊
@@ebranner Here's an interesting video by James Taylor about how he tunes. Seems he intentionally tunes most wound stings a couple of 'cents flat. Very interesting. (Bonus Lesson: TUNING - Official James Taylor Guitar Lessons)
