Such a beatiful song to close up a album, that for the most part, sounded like a living nightmare. It's heartwarming

This song makes me wanna cry. After all the pain and loneliness 2331 went through, he STILL doesn't get a happy ending. Just a maybe ending, which is all most of us can hope for. I may not know what it's like to be a slave on the run, but I sure as shit know loneliness, and this whole album resonates with me so fucking deeply because of that.

The go! Go! Go! Go! Part puts a tear to my eye

Man this album is insane, definitely one of the best hip-hop albums of the last decade But can we just acknowledge that the situation Cargo 2331 is in definitely is 1000x worse than anything the songs of There Existed an Addiction to Blood described? Imagine you're a slave that finally "broke the chains", only to find yourself in a complete state of isolation for the rest of your life? With an AI that holds off any other ship coming for you, essentially holding off the last human interaction that you could ever hope to achieve in a situation like this? The memory of everything that makes you you slowly fading with each passing day and, in the end, accepting your lonely fate and just go? It's a very grim story told through static, gospel and hip-hop songs, perfectly fitting clipping.'s style. Fuck I love this band

One of the best goddamn songs of the last century.

This album, and this song in particular feels so far ahead of it's time. I feel like this will be celebrated in a thousand years in ways it deserves to be celebrated now, by humans much much more intelligent than we are. This is evolutionary music

The first time I heard this I burst out laughing whilst walking down the street. My brain couldn't comprehend it...

"There must be a better place to be somebody, be somebody else" Outside of the context of song, this line kinda sounds like words of suicidal person And also "Are you ready to go? Lets go" sounds like voices in their head, telling him to "go"

Such a hopeful(?), upbeat happy ending

Seeing the another comments here, I think I've put it together. From the ship's perspective, this song is intentionally bright. She wants a place for freedom for both of them, for his freedom, and her freedom to love him without other ship interrupting. "Enough of that love shit, isn't survival enough for him?" From his perspective this ship, while well-meaning, is hurting him the same. He's especially trapped from being able to see any other human again. From his perspective, her interpretation of "a better place to be somebody else" is suicide. Either literally, or through the fact that human life without humans if a form of death on it's own. He's agreeing with her openly, but closetedly, his idea of "a better place to be somebody else" is in ending this situation permanently and hoping he comes back as someone else, either that or going to heaven, his version of it being bright is in a sinister way, where he's found the ultimate way out, and neither resolution, slavery to people nor slavery to machine, will be able to prevent his freedom through death.

I hear the tetsuo theme from Akira in this and I love it .
