Hi Jenny. I have by no means done extensive research on the AUB and FLDS. However, I think Christine's grandfather spent several months in jail in Utah. The separations were likely to keep law enforcement at bay because it wouldn't outwardly appear they were living in polygamy. I think the Allred family/AUB were scared in light of the Shortcreek raid in Arizona where the men and women were arrested and the kids placed in Foster homes for months. So I think that led to the fear the same could happen to them in Utah. You have to remember in the 1950s/60s, folks were being arrested and prosecuted just for bigamy. (Heck - in those times folks were jailed for interracial marriages.) In 2010, they were only likely to prosecute for other crimes but not bigamy. I think it is hard for those of us who didn't grow up with this fear to truly understand. There were lots of polygamists in Utah, and government dealt with them without necessarily prosecuting them as long as no one was getting hurt. But when you make your lives public on a TV show, it's harder for authorities to ignore that they were in fact breaking the law.

Hi! You often call for me-“Editor!” That’s me! Wish I could have helped that book! As for TN shopping, Belle Meade is mostly old money. Newer money is south in Franklin. I’m north near Hendersonville, where the country stars of the 60s and 70s built homes on the lake. Taylor Swift went to high school here. Kelly Clarkson also had her lake house nearby. It is fun to see famous faces at Starbucks! Anyway, holler when you’re down and I’ll go thrifting with you! Blessings!

Maybe Robyn follows Warren Jeffs who had all the dogs on the compound killed. All the little ways Kody changed when she came into the picture, and she says he's not a man to be ruled by his wives. 😂

Kody and dogs…I noticed the same thing when revisiting Season 1. Kody was saying then how dogs are so intelligent and he always had them growing up. Now that he’s with Robyn who obviously doesn’t have any heart for a dog, Kody has morphed into a dog hater. Typical narcissist move, they will morph into being whoever the next partner wants them to be mirroring their thoughts and beliefs until their mask slips.

I tried to watch the RU-vid channel about the guy sitting with dogs but I just couldn't make it through. I have beef cows and my cows have a better life than these dogs. It's heartbreaking. I sure appreciate what he does though. The term "High Cotton" is most definitely a southern term and a song by Alabama

I worked in animal welfare for many years. Municipal shelters often have high kill rates bc they run out of space. They can't say no which makes it difficult to manage all the animals that come into their care and many 501c3 rescues will take animals with medical issues off their hands. A private rescue that shelters animals pulls many types of dogs and often take very hard cases. Granted, they are hoping they can move dogs through quickly and into homes, but this is not always the case. I have many friends who run rescues where individual citizens call them and say they are going to put their dog down if the rescue doesn't take them. It's absolutely brutal what they have to deal with when managing such tight resources. Things have gotten even more dire since people returned to the office after COVID. Many beautiful healthy dogs are put down every day due to lack of adopters and space. Sorry to not make everyone feel better about it. I don't feel your daughter was given a realistic picture of the need. Thank you for encouraging pet adoption! It's so important!

This book is edited like my dxlexic brain, I'm a poet(not famous) but I like poetry cos my stories sound like this. And poems don't require grammar. They should have paid for an editor I would. And all the best pets i had as a kid, and my current cat is a rescue, before a shelter. They are extra loving. You heal their trauma, and in return you get so much love back. I lovingly call him "my little s££t" and worry when he isnt 😅
