These mini quartz clock movements will drive a minute hand that is five inches or less. The way you measure a minute hand is from the mounting hole to the tip. From the center of the mounting hole to the tip.
If it's under five inches you're good to go with these clock motors. You never really measure the hour hand. The hour hand is typically 2/3 the length of your minute hand. When you select one of these motors you might be wondering can I use my old clock hands the answer is no or
it's really probably not.
It probably will not work because there is no cross reference from one clock manufacturer to another clock manufacturer. Every manufacturer is independent of each other and therefore clock hands from your old clock motor probably will not work with your new clock motor.
You're going to receive all the hardware that you need to mount this motor into your dial. The second measurement that is important is the measurement of the overall length of the hand shaft and the threaded part.
The overall length is important if you have a lens over your clock face because you do not want the hands to hit the lens. The threaded part
is important all the time because you need the threaded part this is how it's going to be secured to your dial.
You need the threaded part to come through the middle of your clock and you have to have about an eighth of an inch there so you can put the brass washer on and then the hex nut.
You only need to hand tighten it all you wanted to do is be secure so don't use needle nose pliers or anything to tighten it just give it a good hand tight and it'll be perfect.
