In this video Chris shows you a technique for polishing grandfather clock weight shells and components. He also polishes the hardware and pendulum bob. These are weights for a 5-tubular Bell Winterhalder and Hofmeier Clock.
Hi cris!..I'm New in your Channel. Could you tell me what you used to Clean the rust in the cilinder of the Weight?... Greeting From Buenos Aires in Argentina.
I believe you're asking... How heavy should your weights be? If so, I'd be happy to answer. The Weights act as batteries. The heavier the weight the more it can move and the longer it can run. If it's lost a very small amount of weight, it will still work. You don't want to overweight it and break or excessively damage the internals. If it runs fast or slow, it's down to the pendulum(long ticking thing). There will be a type of screw on the bottom that you can screw right to speed up and left to slow down. Hope that helps. :)
