As a lifelong clone wars fan, I approve of murdering Geonosins. If you saw that show, you know what exactly happened on the desert hellhole.

So what happened in canon is that Sifo (hope I spelled that right) got a vision. Nobody would listen to him so he took it into his own hands to prepare an army to fight the Sith when they returned. He was killed and Sidius subverted the plan.

It was, I believe, that Sifodias (or whatever) worked with Dooku, then Dooku betrayed him and used his name to create Army of clones. Dooku worked on the orders from Palpatine.

I will always remember this game, because it’s the one that taught me how truly terrifying SBD’s and Destroyer Droids are.

14:01 long story short, their Mando trainer was very hard on them, A’den’s squad got wiped at geonosis besides him and A’den had survivors guilt. Walon Vau, the trainer, beat A’den nearly to death over it and A’den swore he’d kill Vau one day because of it. That’s why Sev went at him during the rescue

The most impressive thing in my opinion is the batshit insane durability they posses, Gregor was at the heart of a city sized explosion and walked it off.

A few fun facts about the Commandos, and feel free to correct any mistakes I made, Vode An, the Mandalorian war song mentioned, is a song about the day the Mandalorians take Coruscant from the Republic as it's the original homeworld of the now extinct Taung race that founded the Mandalorian culture we see throughout the series. Funnily, the clones, who were made to defend the Republic and trained by Mandalorians, did just that. One squad of Commandos that defied Order 66 was, if I recall correctly, Onyx squad because they were close to their Jedi leader. More specifically, their squad leader and the Jedi had fallen in love and eventually had a child together who later went on to be a great Mandalorian leader of, I think, a large clan. I don't know if he ever knew or found out about his heritage or not.

The Bad Batch is actually a very new and interesting concept for the Star Wars verse. You don't need to watch all of it. It's enough for you to be aware of them because they're really cool. To put it simply, they're defective clones. Defective in such a way that they got mutations that gave them new and wacky abilities. The Clone Wars series introduced the concept of defective clones. The very first one shown was a clone that was disabled and old. The Bad Batch on the other hand all have defects that basically gave them superpowers. Echo, who's a cyborg. Able to interface with computers like the Droids do. Crosshair has super long-ranged vision making him an excellent sniper. Hunter can sense the electromagnetic fields of droids and he's also the leader of the group. Tech is super smart. Wrecker is super strong. He was able to lift a crashed gunship to save Commander Cody. And the last one is Omega, the one and only female clone. Don't know whats up with her but she's a part of it.

I don’t know if this video mentions it. But there’s a really cool book series about the Republic Commandos. Delta Squad is in it and so are a ton of other really cool clones and Mandalorians..

Technically all clones are super soldiers at least in the EU because they were all genetically altered and enhanced but clone commandos were just trained so well and equipped so well that they could be seen as super soldiers. Their armor was quite powerful having a similar recharging shield system to that of the halo spartans. Their MK III armor was so strong that it was nearly impervious to anything up to laser cannons, laser cannons are graded for tanks, armored vehicles and aircraft and could withstand shots from railguns. And one time a commando jumped on a pretty powerful grenade and all it did was shake him up a bit. Helmet - The helmet of the Katarn-class armor had a HUD or heads up display that consistently displayed tactical data such as the location and distance to the target, the health of the wearer and the strength of the suit's shielding. The helmet could system link to others through the use of an internal communications antennae allowing each member of a squad to keep track of their comrade's health and location. Specialized internal sensors could detect the make, model, and relative accuracy of every weapon that a commando used, and could adjust the format of the targeting reticule for differing weapons. The Helmet had a built-in filtration system which could extract oxygen from toxic environments. The visor was designed to incorporate electrobinocular and night-vision modes.It also controlled the environmental features of the suit and had a tactical spot lamp. Body - The body of the armor boasted reinforced duraplast plating for defense against blaster fire and other anti-infantry weapons. Its design included resistance to extreme heat and cold. The suit could be fully sealed allowing a commando to survive in vacuum for up to 20 minutes. The knuckle plate of the armor featured a retractable vibroblade used for close quarter combat and covert encounters.It also contained multiple sensors, including touch induced sensors and environmental sensors as well. Additionally, it had a chronometer featured on the forearm plate. Backpack - The backpack featured specialized ammunition cartridges that held various types of ammo, and was reconfigurable for many different missions, such as an extra oxygen tank for aquatic and space-borne environments, a large bacta dispenser for augmented healing, or even an external communications array for long distance communications (i.e. subspace transmissions). The backpack usually carried: Explosives, ammo, medical gear, stealth gear, and either rations or gadgets used to survive in different operations. The backpack had a display on it that showed the last two digits of the individual commando's ID number. And their weapons were quite strong to. DC-17M Blaster Carbine that was fairly powerful, automatic, rapid fire and modular allowing it to change into a anti-armor grenade launcher powerful enough to take on droids the size of tanks with armor rated for starship hulls. And a sniper rifle that functioned similarly to a railgun except it enveloped each round in plasma as it exited the barrel giving it even more penetration. Then they also carried a blaster pistol with recharging ammo that basically never ran out. Then you had their vibroblade which vibrated at such a high rate/frequency that you didn't even need to make physical contact with the enemy to rupture their organs and cause massive internal damage. They also on occasion used verpine shatter rifles railguns that could fire anything even rocks and fired at such a high speed that even water was lethal at close range. Then they usually carried flash grenades, emp grenades that destroyed droids and rendered organics stunned, sonic grenades that could blow enemies apart and stuck to walls, thermal detonators which in the EU anyway are thermonuclear grenades that are equipped with a shield that limits their explosive radius but they'd basically vaporize everything with that blast radius. But some models were known to have explosive radius big enough to topple skyscrapers. Then they carried your garrotes, satchel charges, door charges, bombs, and also had Bacta processing implants that let them process bacta extremely quickly which allowed to them basically heal from critical injuries in seconds and even be revived when incapacitated through the use of handheld jumpstarter units that every commando had. They were incredibly well trained, well armored, equipped and dangerous. Really the apex of special forces.

So the bank heist thing: Vau, before he became a Mando, belonged to a very wealthy family, and they were apparently the stingiest shitheads ever. The vault that Vau robbed was his family's vault, going so far as to also steal his mother's wedding gem to give to one of the clones so said clone could propose to a woman he'd fallen for. The money was donated to Kal Skirata (one of the other teachers that Jango had brought to train the clones) so that Kal could hire a bunch of scientists to fix the clones aging problem as they, in Legends' Canon, would forever age at twice the speed of a normal human unless it was stopped.

if i recall Republic Commandos never got Inhibtor chips they ether broke ranks and disobeyed orders or Followed orders, apc and bad batch still had their chips orginally being normal troopers just sightly more Individualistic, Delta followed order all but sev aparently hopefully that fixed in new cannon now tho. Super battle droids were my Bane in that game.

I have to point out PNW is incorrectly the events of the game, it was the delta's command advisor that pulled em out. Yoda then ordered the invasion force to follow delta squad back down and SUPPORT THEM !!! I recall mention in old legends that the kamioans basically deleted an entire batch of commando snipers because their eyesight was something like 0.001% off from the norm, thats how obsessed they were about making them the best. Also geonosian babies deserve the flamethrower, seriously just i dunno why the republic didn't just exterminatus geonosis knowing what they are about.

I like some of the new stuff brought in by Disney. The (eventual) trilogy of Jedi games from Respawn, despite launch issues, are solid games with good story telling, additional lore, and fun gameplay. The Vader comics helped explore and give an idea of what he couldve been, the struggles he initially had after donning the suit, and even have Palpatine act as a legitimate mentor in some ways. They also served to introduce crystal bleeding, a process where a dark side user forces hate, pain, fear, rage, etc into a kyber crystal to turn it red rather than just having to make their own artifical crystals. Its an addition to the Sith and the dark side as a whole that honestly fits so well I'm surprised it WASN’T a Legends addition (As well as the explanation that white sabers arent just aritifical or random white crystals, but red crystals that have since been purified by a Jedi. Which, again, is an addition that just makes too much sense imo) The majority of season 7 of the clone wars that was, granted, initially halted by them along with the existence of the Bad Batch (Which I feel people nitpick too much. It isnt perfect by any means but I do think its a really good show in its own right. Not perfect, but good.) Is also another point in their favor. The Mandalorian is generally good with some weakspots in season 2, though there were large disappointments in season 3 that i suspsect are due to meddling and budget issues that are starting to show themselves. Ahsoka was good. Not great, it had issues (There i was CERTAINLY seeing cracks in the budget and the 8 episode season limit) but it was good. Hell, something people keep trying to give Disney Star Wars shit for is the amount of Jedi that survived the purge when there have been LESS known survivors in Disney star wars compared to Legends, which more than doubles the known survivors in the current canon. (Also, some scenes in Rebels are legitimately good. I dont care for Rebels much as a whole, but it does have amazing scenes such as the final fight between Maul and Obi-wan. That one scene was honestly EXCELLENT Star Wars.) And of course, Hayden has finally gotten to redeem himself as a good actor and fit for Anakin Skywalker. And the clone chips. Some people hate them, but to me it makes more sense. If its an option, why wouldn’t a Sith lord ensure absolute loyalty through a method that takes away someones free will? Though technically that started pre disney and just remained canon under them so 🤷‍♂️ I'm not saying Disney Star wars is perfect. By any means. Nor is it even where its supposed to be. The Sequel trilogy alone leaves a shadow over any post OG show that is difficult to overcome, Carry Fishers untimely passing along with the age of Mark and Harrison make it hard to work with most of the OG crew, the sequel trilogies were unholy dumperster fires of disrespect, Solo was criminally meh and even disrespectful in its own right (Teasing Maul despite knowing the best parts of his story including the end by now) Rogue One was average with some great scenes here and there, while Obi-Wan and Book of Boba Fett were clearly shafted even harder by outside meddling (Kathleen.) Than even Mando S3, which is saying something. (Both mentioned shows had some good things but the stumbles they took... yikes.) The Star Wars Battlefront games have been nothing short of disappointing (BF2, no matter what you say, still was nowhere near what it should have been by the time updates were cancelled 4 years after launch. Point system was stupid. Being able to walk into a vehicle will always be better than having to buy one until the limit is hit, gunships on rails are stupid, not having a proper conquest campaign option was dumb- I could go on. I could severely go on.) And Star wars Visions... exists. I guess. And as I said, not really a fan of Rebels. Most of it is meh. Most of the characters are meh. Some are good (Kanan and Hera) but i care little for most of the story otherwise. If anything I liked Ezra and Sabine in Ahsoka far more than in Rebels. The world between worlds is a mixed bag with many pros and cons, Star wars resistance I have refused to touch, and apparently we are getting another movie with Rey... joy. Fucking joy. I could find more flaws, but just as much as I could find more good things. Its a mixed bag. Disney has introduced plenty of good and bad into Star wars but ultimately I dont think its completely terrible as most people like to pretend that it is. Many people go hard trying to nitpick or pretend to be pro critics when really they have a severe hate boner and just can't let it soften up. It helps nothing to spew only hate and vitriol, it helps EVERYTHING to criticize whats deserved (Usually 95% of whats sucks is directly tied to Kathleen in some way. Not just via her being pres of Lucasfilm but through her actual intervention.) While most of the good stuff is because of Jon and Dave, the bad in their stuff again pretty clearly coming from interference that THEY didn’t want (Something I even heard Jon has gone on record to comment on directly) it will help really show the money that could be made by demoting Kathleen and putting Jon in charge (Because frankly, i think hes the best to do so. I fear Dave would have the same issues as Lucas if he was in charge, being the mini George that he is at times.) But i doubt this will be read at the end of the day, and obviously enough you are entitled to your own opinion. All I ask is if you ever feel like it, give some of the Disney Star wars stuff a chance. Im concerned with where its going, but at the end I know there IS still hope for Star Wars. (Besides, its not like Legends was perfect either. Many Disney flaws apply just as much if not moreso to Legends, such as the surviving Jedi.)
