Karen has one of the most beautiful voice ever exist. the moment you hear just one or two notes of her song you will know instantly that it was she who is singing. Such a uniquely beautiful voice. if only she had lived longer, there would've have been so many more beautiful songs of hers. Her legacy even for a short while will be remembered forever ❤

Karen Carpenter was such an inspiration to me. When l was a young girl, l wanted to sing and sound just like her. When l got married in 1988, l had to have "We've Only Just Begun" played at our wedding. After having children, l would listen and sing to her music and my children told me that l sounded like her, it made me smile. I realized as I've listened to her songs over the years that most of them are very sad. She was so talented but l think because of her sadness she could really feel it and express the pain inside through music. Lord have mercy on her sweet soul. What a gift she was and still is. ❤😢

The Carpenters, both of them are a gift to the modern and post, post modern world and is a must have collection in your music catalogue of life. There are so many "unsung" hero's not withstanding Les Paul that produced and engineered the sound of The carpenters. At the time Richard wanted the auto harmonization that Les Paul had pioneered and he had 21 years of electric instruments, modulators, mixers and the "synths" to run his tracks through. Karen had a great voice that is to be sure I am just as impressed with the songwriters and well everybody that pulled this off. Such great arrangements. I remember Michael Jackson saying how he adored The Carpenters,. He like The Carpenters did his back up vocal harmonies on multi tracks and harmonized using the Less Paul / Richard Carpenter method as well as the latest digital quadraphonic voice synthesizers.

The Carpenters music came out when I was getting into my teen years. I loved her voice and was able to sing a lot like her....in my senior year of high school, my music teacher let me sing solos in our Christmas and Spring Concerts. Of course, I wanted to sing THE CARPENTERS songs. I sang “Merry Christmas Darling” to a standing ovation, and in the Spring I sang, “Maybe It’s You, Maybe It’s Me.” I still remember ALL The Carpenters songs and still sing them to this day!! What an incredible voice she had! I was heartbroken at her death at such a young age.😢. I have lived past 32 years and now have surpassed that at 69 yrs old. Sweet Karen was never able to get that far, sadly. In my heart she will ALWAYS BE......THE BEST FEMALE VOCALIST OF ALL TIME!! NO ONE to this day has had such a unique voice!! Karen’s story resonates with me a lot. ( not to mention the eating disorder) Having been raised in a family of drummers, the message to me was always « girls don’t play drums » When I watch Karen singing like an Angel in those corny videos with her legs crossed, I think what a waste!! She could seriously play the drum kit as well as sing .. why the music industry did not see the potential of marketing her as a drummer/singer I’ll never know. But it was a sign of the times for sure. Nevertheless, I am so grateful for her inspiration and talent!

they wanted her to be at the front of the stage - to feature her and of course that amazing voice . She was evidently painfully shy and was comforted by being behind those drums - you know you would not be as exposed . I have heard before that her eating disorder really got worse when she had to come out from behind the drums
