Close your Eyes | Nightmare and Dream 

The cold is unlike anything Dream had ever felt. The force of being stabbed is enough to send him stumbling backwards. Fallen. Injured and bleeding. The pain wracks through his body unlike anything he'd ever felt before. That's when he feels it. The forceful removal of his soul. The last golden apple. A weak, muffled cry escapes his throat as the power drains from his bones. Those bright, golden eyelights now grow dim. Dream... was dying. He could feel every bit of energy drain away as the golden apple is taken farther and farther away from his body. The pain, the cold, the unbearable loneliness, it saps away all positivity from the skeleton. For the first time in his life, Dream can feel every. Single. Negative. Emotion. Pain, sadness, rage, loneliness, heartbreak, all of these unfamiliar feelings washing through him like a wave of torment. He screams in pain. Cracks span like spiderwebs, from the center of his spine outward. Like a disease or plague spreading out through his body, the cracks multiply by the millions. Then, the worst feeling of all... the slow and agonizing feeling of his body turning to dust. His limbs fall, ashy dust now starting to litter the area. Dream gasps and wheezes, yellow tears flowing like small waterfalls down his face. "N-Nightmare...!" Is all he can gasp out before it takes his torso too. As the last of his body fades away, his skull beginning to dust too... he looks up with a pain of pure anguish. It's an expression so horrifying in itself, anybody would be mortified to see it Yet, in his last moments... Dream knows that his brother doesn't care. He knows that nobody cares for him. Will anybody miss him when he's gone? As the last speck of dust hits the ground, joining the small pile, a sudden wave pulses throughout the entire multiverse. That wave symbolizes the death of positivity. The wave is one more, feeble attempt to cry out for help... But he knows nobody will come for him.

I like how Nightmare stays relatively rigid as he's falling instead of just melting or collapsing where he stood, it conjures a bit of tree imagery which, if intentional, is extremely clever seeing as they're basically skeleton-shaped saplings.

Moral of the story: don't eat apples that are black or gold. It will do some pretty crazy stuff to you. Can't believe I had never heard of you btw. You got yourself a new subscriber!

Dream: *dies* Nightmare: *eats Dream' s soul and dies* Nightmare & Dream: "We're so happy and at peace!" Nightmare gang: "Well frick, I guess we're outta a job then." ;---;

Nobody: Nightmare: *Dies and Falls to the Floor Gracefully*

The people who dislikeed this must be afraid of killer horror’s cute faces or octopuses cause this is beautiful

Yo I just reread the Dreamtale comic/story and "I'm gonna eat your heart" is so surprisingly accurate. The reason Nightmare turned Dream to stone was because Nightmare had gotten so addicted to the taste of the apples, that he thought if he turned Dream to stone instead of killing him, he could find a way to get to the apple Dream ate. Why is nobody drawing art of Nightmare addicted to apples? We need to get with the program!

Hey, you, yes you, you want a sad information about nightmare ? There's actually no way of saving nightmare. He's actually dead and Joku confirmed this as his body wasn't stable enough to hold all that negativity, thus the corruption breaking down his body and him having only one stable eye. He's dead there's no freeing a dead person from their fate. Joku has even said ( or at least it was said then revoked or something like that ) That all the endings of Dreamtale are all pretty grim. There was even something where Dream had a *dream* ( **badum tss** ) of uncorrupted Nightmare dying and that's when he knew the current nightmare wasn't his brother anymore.

Wait, did they both die??? *le shook*

People: An Apple a day keeps the doctor away! Nightmare Sans: Oh okay then... **Picks Apple from the tree** Dream: Nightmare, they didn’t mean that one! Nightmare: Oh- too late now! Dream: *N i g h t m a r e n o-*

Nightmare cackled at the sight that his brother was gone. The sight of his brother dead put a smile on his face as he took the last golden Apple away from Dream. Returning to his castle in glee, he ate the last golden apple. Yet for all that happened, something was burning in his chest. What was it exactly, and where did it come from? He felt all types of positive feelings flow inside of his body, kindness, bravery, and enlightenment. A gruesome pain Nightmare couldn’t endure. He collapsed on the floor and became nothing, but dust(or a blob cuz he is a bunch of goop lol). Nightmare awoken from his slumber. Where was he? He then noticed he wasn’t covered in goop and instead back to the form he originally looked like. “Brother. I’m glad to see you again.” A strange voice called out to Nightmare, but who was it? “Dream. Is that you?,” Nightmare said to the strange voice. It was Dream, but how? “Come brother, I want to show you the beautiful flowers,” Dream said calmly. Nightmare hesitated for a moment, yet he endured it and went with his brother. They were free. They were together once more.

It's easy to imagine that this would have happened had Dream escaped Nightmare in the beginning, rather than if he had been turned to stone and escaped later once it wore off. It does kind of make sense to me if Nightmare would have been able to kill him then, since Dream still would have been weak from the influx of negativity affecting the balance. Regardless, this was still a beautiful video and I cannot stop staring at Nightmare throughout the entire thing ;v;

Kinda surprised the last golden apple that nootmare ate didn’t turn negative. Cause when he was normal, he had not a lot of negativity. Makes sense the Apple he touched would turn negative, but the whole tree did.. and somehow when he’s the god of negativity he doesn’t turn it negative. Consistency people! Aside from that loved it. This was made 4 years ago, wow! I am loving all the designs and art styles and everything in thiis video. At the end where nightmare falls and dies or something llove it. I like that, It is true that if Nightmare eats a positive apple he dies and if dream eats a negitivity apple he dies. Also positivity and negativity always go together somehow.
