I think that the best part of this giveaway it's that more users will become interested in playing the game! In fact, this is one of the few games where using an emulator and/or cheat codes allows you to play it "the way it was meant to be played", as the pendant item is bugged and works the opposite way that it's supposed to work.

Excellent idea for a giveaway!! Faxanadu is one of my all-time favorite video games!! I played it rental style from the time it first came out in the late 80s until the mid-90s when my local video rental store was going out of business. My dad bought it for me there for $8 with the box, but no manual.

Random... I had a bunch of rare games from when I was a kid. About 10 years ago I got into hard drugs and sold All of my gaming stuff for that. So dumb. I get ptsd when I go to conventions and see games I sold for pennies going for 250+ dollars. It's not the cash... it's the memories. :( Ive been sober for 2 years now and doing amazing, but that will always sit as a huge regret. Either way, I hope I win this as this was one of the victims of my addiction. 😀

I have the "Nello" font version and have lost several passwords because of it I don't have the box or manual but my copy has something better it has someone's full name and address written right on the cart! Congrats to whoever wins!

I spent many enjoyable hours of my childhood playing this game - it's pretty great. I hope whoever wins it gets the chance to play and enjoy the game as well. I will not be entering the contest myself, as I already have plenty of memories with Faxanadu and would rather that the prize goes to someone else. Thanks for putting up the giveaway!

I think the atmosphere of the music was what struck me most playing this as a kid. The Land of Mist was a standout, and Land of the Dwarves was practically responsible for me taking piano lessons. Indeed a great game, Hungry.

Already have a copy but I'll show my support all the same! I remember being 14 or 15, and learning to play this song on a cheaper-than-sin Casio electronic piano... never actually learned to play the piano for real, though.

While I am typing in comments, I felt I should mention that I recently finally got my Steam Deck - why mention it here? Because it is quite simply the most enjoyable handheld system I have ever used. And it makes for a great emulation machine for these sorts of games. Valve also expects they will be all caught up with their pre-orders till this point, by the end of this year. So it's actually attainable now. =)

I know the contest is over, but I have a rather strange Faxanadu memory. Basically, I hated using the Giant Blade because it didn't look like "traditional sword." Yeah, I was kinda dumb.

I have Faxandu...and an NES in a plastic tote....I think I'll get that out tonight.

Nello lol this is the only game i still have the box and everything for. I remember playing this when i was little and laughing about how much people at the shops blink when you talk to them

I am tapped into that Etsy underground game trade, so I got mine for $8. It is the most under looked thriving retro game market... If you know where to look. Weird stuff too, like home brewed self made games put on retro carts that work in old systems and all kinds of wild stuff.

Never had the... Anything for this game, my original, back in the day came in a Funkoland sleeve, that was like yellow, or green cardboard. That one with the sleeve has been gone for... Christ I'm old, like 2011... Okay, not really, but a little over a decade ago, and when you want to sound really old, you have to refer to Chunks of time as words. I think I'm going to go write graffiti about video game memories on you friends channel now, like this one time as a kid I was trying to get the Magic of Shariahzaid or whatever it's spelled running on my Nintendo as a child, and somehow got so much rubbing alcohol into the machine, that even though, no Shariahzaid was maybe actual broken, or I was still too little to know about fine-grained sand paper, and carpenter pencils (Graphite can save a worn 72-pin connector if you... This wasn't the point!) The point was, my NES could play Super Mario's first level without the game after my not so well thought out Nintendo improv to accidental alcohol "bath"... But only with diagonal, grey lines over everything, but I was little, and magic is magic, and clearly my Nintendo was some kind of magic!
