CLOUDWHEEL ROVERS 165R on Hub Motor Wheels - BACKFIRE Ranger X2 / X3 

Thanks - the stocks are not bad and some people really seem to have problems to fit the Cloudwheels on their X2 (first generation X2s). It's worth a try and I say it should work, but contact Backfire with your serial number if you want to be sure!

There is a kit for the backfire tires on Cloudwheels website for the ranger. If you choose "Pulley Kit 621" it comes with 2 sleeves for your hub and 2 complete front wheels. You exchange just the tire for the motor wheels - the old tire is on a metal rim, that is removed completely. The Cloudwheel sleeves are thicker (they don't have a rim) - instead they hold in place with these little tubes I talked about. It's is not too easy to assemble, but doable. Stock tires are easier to assemble. I hope by now they provide a few extra screws and tubes in the cloudwheel package as these tubes are quite delicate. Iwonder has a good instruction for the installation though. Good luck!

Maybe something is not tightly fixed - if the hub motor back plate has a little gap, the little tubes might make such noises. try to losen the little screws and add pressure to the black wheel plate, also "massage" the rubber part of the wheel a bit so it all fits a bit better in place. I bet that should do it. Moving all the parts a bit with force removed all the gaps, then nothing should rattle. Hope you manage to find a solution! And sorry for the late answer, I was away a bit.

@@RKessler yeah it was actually the axle nut that wasn’t tightened enough.

I do not know. I bought my X2 in January of 2021. But even if there are different motors, if the wheel "sleeves" are the same, it should fit the cloudwheels. But please check with Backfire directly! Sorry for the late answer!
