Solid Review, loved that there wasn't any separation with that much range on them, id love to see a battery range test against other cloud wheels on a board as well. just to see how much that 165 drains the battery
That shot of you reversing the TRX through the water 🤣 , with 120mm wheels or less I think the board would have taken more of a dip! That extra height came in useful. Great that you took the time to put all those miles on them before posting, good stuff. 👍
Thanks mate, I remember getting a bit of flack, when the first CW came out and I reviewed them after only a few KM, then soon everyone was getting cracked cores, didn’t want a repeat of that 😂
Had so many AT punctures.. takes hours. most annoying is the poor design of the wheel valve hole (evolve etc) where it’s a sharp corner instead of a smooth radius. Acceleration twists the tyre on the rim and then the rubber comes away from the valve.
I get punctured every 3 or 4 ride. I’m sick and tired of flats, of having to end my ride 10 mins after it starts, of puncture Anxiety, of breaking a motor cause I kept riding on. The flat etc etc
Great content as always! Looks like a good option for those who want bigger wheels without going pneumatic. I personally prefer big pneumatics over 120mm cloudwheels. A lot more comfy.
Great content, as always. I didn’t even know about these until your first mention of them. I had ordered some 155 honeycomb from ownboard, but they haven’t even acknowledged the order yet so I might just cancel and get these. Not available until 3/10. I just checked the cloudwheel website.
Loved your video. Very informative and wow... You covered different terrains. Your editing and production very sweet 💯. Was trying to figure if your recording with. Looks like Insta360 but not sure 😅
Hi Jos, thanks for your feedback I really appreciate it, It’s actually a GoPro hero 9 with a max lens mod, gives a wide view and locks the. Horizon !!!
So glad you took your time with this one . ❤️ . Have been waiting for this review . Have been watching you for well over a year now and still not bored of looking at you calves. Do you know if these would fit on the beast set-up if I changed the drive cogs to the evolve set up that I Wonder sell . And yes I have a different deck to use
I could definitely see myself riding these. I have about 3000 miles on my current Cloud Wheel 120mm wheels. They look like racing slicks, but grip dry ground like a champ.
I think more companies should adapt these as the “street setup” and have tube tires for the “AT setup”. There’s just very few reasons to pick eurothane over airless tires. I have the vestar 6” airless and I prefer them over evolve wheels. Not because they’re comfier but because I get twice the range, same clearance, and never have to swap a flat tire.
Do you think there is any benifit to these over the 120mm clouds? I currenlty have the 120's on my zeus pro and when I ride to work I get there with ~30% battery left. Do you think I would still be able to get to work above 20% if I swapped to the 165 rovers?
How is the comfort compared to 105mm Cloud's? My used Bibuff board came with 94mm solids, 105mm clouds and 150mm pneumatics(Heavy rider at 260lb) But the 150mm pneumatics have very high vibration(love the clearance that the 150mm gives me when going places with my board) So planning to buy a Atsa Everyday backpack and maybe buy some new wheels, I just passed my first 35KM's after not being on a board for twenty years,
they look pretty slick. being 165mm, how does the range compare to similar sized wheels? I like how they are much flatter compared to the RF125s which are way too curved which leads to less grip. I don't like the fact that wheels like this and many others have no way to replace the rubber. they have the ability to sell sleeves with an adhesive that you can slip on and the glue seals them in. wished someone would do something like that.
I use the Rode Wireless Go with a Lapel mic and a small wind muff, just after the off-road scene you can actually see it hanging outside my t-shirt neck line
Not sure why, but I didn’t expect any sliding on a larger wheel. I did my first unintentional rear wheel slide yesterday on the 105 cloudwheels, and let me tell you it was more scary than fun. 😂😜
hi mate great question, 6 months ago, id answer Lycaon / Exway DKP, these days man I love the TKP from Ownboard and B-One, they are fun to carve and really stable
Need advice! I am torn between the Meepo Hurricane vs endeavor pro or a 3rd option. I have absolutely terrible roads and want the smoothest longest ride i can get and still be able to go in a store with the board. 100kg rider. any suggestions?
Meepo hurricane would suit you well, endevour pro is another different class of board. If you live in the middle of nowhere I'd suggest the endevour over the hurricane though.
I use 190mm pneumatics with 66t pulley on my hurricane. I thought about getting the cloudwheels But I really like the 190mm tires. Anywhere sell 200mm?
I have some 110 rubbers which hog range and it looks like it's time to buy some new shoes for my board. I think i'll wait until someone imports them to Europe for a reasonable price though just to avoid that customs tax
@@scottdaviesyoutube thank you Scott. As always, appreciate your reviews and especially thanks for taking the time to respond to comments and questions!
Scott I know you're a big guy but... You cut a 90° turn. Are those really loose do you have the weight to jam that turn? (Please, honest question; do not take it any other way.). Your turn radius is fantastic. Is it the wheels or your set up.
no commentary on how they perform in the wet, Clouds have a fair rep for being a little less than desirable for wet weather, It'd be nice to see a comparison between them in wet conditions
Sweet ❤️🤙. I need to bite the bullet for a new board but really need to find a way to get some test riding as apart from a 5 minute go on a lonestar the bgtr is the only board I've ridden. Cheers brother 👍
I found that they were _less_ grippy than the normal 150mm airless that come with so many boards. also, they bounce up a lot more than other wheels which means less grip on bumpy services. I WISH they were more sticky than the ones Im still running.. but no. I had to give them up unfortunately. I am honestly disappointed because I really wanted them to work for me. maybe on less bumpy surfaces they would be good.
"Do I think these are better than a pneumatic? That's the big question (Yes! It is!). Honestly i don't think so (Ah.). If you have a pneumatics already and you love them, I don't think you'll need to upgrade to the 165 Rovers. That's just my personal opinion (Errr...)." Well look, thanks for sharing your opinion. Would you also like to share the the reasons why you have that opinion?
Looks great but they have worn really fast in my opinion. I never changed mine for like more than 700km and they look better. (Evolve) not a fan anymore but theit wheels are great
Hi mate, maybe the video doesn’t do it justice the wear is so minimal I can still see the seam down the center of the wheel, they have worn way better compared to my 120 and 105 cloudwheel.
*After watchin 2 or 3 reviews I've decided I will probably skip these,* I love smaller wheels and was considerin AT for explorin etc but I think these are more Big urethane rather than AT, and I don't need Big urethane... ⚡🤙🏼🤙🏼⚡ great review as always 👌🏼👏🏼
I hate rough pavement like that; I already feel their roughness driving on my car, moreso on a board. I'd rather ride on packed dirt with 90mm thane wheels.
I would like a version of this review without the background music. Mostly when you are riding, so we can here the tire and surface noise. As you here when your riding. I am sorta sure you are not riding with background music on when you were filming this with your Insta360 One X2. Maybe next time use one of your extra wireless mic transmitters attached near your waist area. Just a thought.
