I completely agree with it being an exploit, not cheating. He is still having to keep rythym he is just using a closed button press and an open button press doubling is presses per second. I definitely don’t see it as any different than using a tablet. It is an unfair advantage based on technology. The keyboard wasn’t modulating his presses he was just doubling his presses so that they hit on press and release. You can legitimately do this with any arcade button with a micro switch and get almost the same exact result. Nobody has been able to demonstrate how the keyboard pushed buttons for him just that allowed a release of the key to count as an input which is something anyone can do in any game. In shooting there is something called a binary trigger which essentially increases the persons firing rate through firing around on both actions of the trigger on press and release. If you brought one of those to a shooting competition nobody would say you are cheating because the skills required for using that tricked out trigger create their own down sides. The fandom seems to think using a tablet isn’t cheating even though that is the same sort of technology reliant buff. As I said I am still waiting for the explanation that convince the woot keyboard company that it was cheating, because press on release is a technology that has existed in the arcades. So it isn’t some new technology that requires complex software.

@@dorjedriftwood2731 It's not simply an actuation on release, it's only actuation when releasing. The key deactivates when fully released, so a single keypress that should have been 2 events (actuation and deactivation) became 3 events (deactivation, actuation, and deactivation). If you want to reverse key logic, then the key should actuate even when he's not holding it down at all, which is unplayable without the DKS macro since the game only allows one input to be pressed down at any given moment. Tablets are not a technology buff and has been allowed since the games release because the game itself is a port of another game on the DS which uses the stylus/pen.

yes,because he only had the setting for ONE of his keys. this is why only one of the keys has fucked up key press time,since the other one is working normally. apparently he had wooting keyboards in 2019,and those also had the same macro functionalities.

It explains it. DT works by actually making the game go 1.5x faster, so if you press 42ms on no mod it will show up as 63 on DT. Same exact thing happens on UR. And why the number is so consistent? It's cause its the input wootility does on a key release (note how it's a release, you cant really affect hold time if you aint holding it, so it will be consistent)

This was not happening before he got wooting. It's that he has had 2 different wootings and it happened on both. People were saying it was happening before he got wooting because of a discord message from like 11 months ago or something where he said his wooting arrived but he already had a different wooting before that.

Cheating is when you download software with the intent to use it for cheating, wooting isn't cheating software, it's a keyboard software. Wooting didn't intentionally put DKS in there software for it to be used as cheating for osu! therefore it's an exploit which I still consider restriction worthy.

Doubletapping is only to act like he's playing normally, blud singletaps and it doubles his inputs, it's not even a question, it is NOT allowed

yeah they released a statement two or three months ago doubling down because wooting was like mainstreaming it that it was not allowed.

It's a click on a downstroke followed by a click on an upstroke essentially registering 2 clicks in 1 press.

Dereban literally singletapped 600 bpm streams with this feature, there is no way it should be allowed

​@@uhq_ Personally I would think that 2 clicks being registered in one would be cheating, As it clicks and releases on the upstroke and does it after a 42ms interval, basically a macro that taps after a 42ms difference from the first click. Think of it like this, instead of tapping 300BPM streams, he only has to doubletap 150BPM as the DKS will double it. Allowing him to click more and faster for less.

It's possible he's lying about how he cheated to try save face by admitting to a much lighter cheating method. I don't know how this would explain it so that's my assumption. Edit: Apparently the 63/42 is explained by how osu calculates the time ingame. If the IRL hold time is 42 ms, but he plays double time, the 1.5x multiplier is also added to the hold time. Or something similar. So he probably did cheat using Wooting's settings.

To be fair there is no 100% proof he wasn't using relax, especially since he only admitted that it was Wootings DKS, after the 63ms was recreated with it. Could be possible he is admitting to that to make it seem more honorable then just straight up cheats. Just a thought.

because that's essentialy a macro, a lot of heyboards have one, even my random ass chinese keyboard has a macro

its like setting a macro to make your mouse click twice with one click and tapping at 150 bpm to stream 300 bpm, dynamic keystrokes literally does inputs for you that you arent actually doing

dks is a type of macro, and macro is prohibited.

And I think you have a brain defect

to clear things up, the rule is: one full keypress must correspond to one in-game input. one full keypress is the press AND release of a key. doubletapping is essentially treating 2 keys as one, which makes cloutiful's method bannable since it gives two inputs for one full doubletapped keypress, on press and on release. a regular doubletap would have both inputs on the key press and not one on the release. this essentially makes streams playable as doubletapped jumps, which is obviously fraudulent.

obviously, you still need to aim and have some level of proper tapping, but for speed / stream maps, it becomes MUCH easier to master them and acc them if all you have to do is press and release to the beat.

​@@iooiralala4278 i dont think that's what i does. the tweet states "only activates on an upstroke", so i believe it's more like you press down z and it pressed z, you release x and it pressed x. so instead of having two inputs at the same time while doubletapping it sends one of the two inputs for the release. if i'm correct on how this works, this actually isn't that bad. i've seen a guy tape a keypad to the underside of his desk before, while also having one on top so he could move his hand up and down and always hit one of the keypads with either up or downstroke of his arm. this "software based approach" just seems like a more optimal way to play like this. dont yet know how i feel about his

So it's like press the keyboard normally but the input comes after a little delay. @@janmagtoast nah that's exactly what it does, in fact the double binded key iirc is on his non dominant finger so that he doesn't fuck up jumps, also, have u seen the live play? He is double tapping od 11 300 bpm spaced stream with pitch perfect acc, and he can do this only cus tecnically he is double tappig with one key and between the two outputs of the SAME key there is a slight delay thanks to the fact that one output is generated by the key being pressed and the other one by the same key being released, giving him an infinitely better unstable rate in comparison to a real doubletap cus when u duble tap the outputs from your key are basically simultaneous thus making you hit the first note normally and the 2 too early, sorry if my english is fkn broken but it's not my language and im pulling am involountary osu420 thanks to uni
