Clove hitch - Attach a climbing line to a throw line 

The Clove hitch in combination with half hitches and an optional mid line clove hitch at the end is a simple method for tree climbers and arborists to attach the throw line to the climbing line.
In our video we are using a thicker line instead of a regular throw line to improve visibility.
After getting the throw line into position the next logical step will be hoisting the climbing line into the tree. To do that we need to remove the throw bag and attach the climbing line to the throw line. There are several ways you can attach the throw line to the climbing line. One of them is using a combination of the clove hitch and some half hitches
Make sure that the final hitch sits as far to the end of your climbing line as possible. If not done properly the climbing line together with the throw line will form a fork and that will get stuck easily.
