Lived next to cathkin park for over 15 years now and have walked my dogs every day here , absolutely amazing place, really great for the people in the area who use it to walk their dogs, relax and play sports. Id heard some group want to privatise it and put up a fence around the grounds to prevent the public getting access, which is sad. It belongs to everyone. Id love to get the small court near by restored and get some basketball rims up in the fenced area. As for the trees , people will complain but they are beautiful in summer and are host to all sorts of wild life , especially a horde of magpies , the place is pretty magic throughout the year and well worth a visit.
I'm coming up to Glasgow later this month November 2021, to view the West of Scotland Cricket Club venue for the first ever Football International 1872, Hampden Park museum and Stadium tour and having a walk round Cathkin Park, can't wait!
I love the passion. I love football. I love the sense of awe that you get when you can feel the history in a ground. I am a Carlisle fan and feel that sense when I am at a ground the ghosts of the past. This is an incredible project.
I can remember Third Lanark results being read out on Grandstand on Saturday afternoons, be great if you could remove all the trees and restore the terraces to their former glories, and maybe someone with a lot of money could get the club restarted and playing back in the League, you could always apply for National Lottery Funding
