This week we have TaylorMade's new TP Reserve putter out on the course. The fully milled putters offer a great roll and solid feel. The milled grooves offer a soft, but responsive feel. Nippon has new premium putter shafts, the N.S. Pro. Nippon offers the N.S. Pro in 120g, 140g, and 160g options that add stability and improve feel.

Thanks for reviewing the Nippon putter shaft. Looks like a nice option.

I think it really is. You get added stability and a different feel for much less than some other shaft upgrades.

Just put the Nippon 140 in one of my putters, really like it so far. The increased weight is definitely a different feel.

So $400 is the normal price for putters from the main manufacturers now, great

Yeah, I am not a huge fan of where putter prices are going either.

It's crazy almost like they used the most elite materials, with a longer more precise milling process, and added Quality Control for each putter? They also put a name on it like "reserve" in exchange for appealing to a elite more tour market that has the money for it...being sad about it isn't that they exist but that you're not truly responsible if you spend that amount on it. That's more a reflection of yourself sorry to say... However it is the process that drives innovative improvements across the cheaper lines as well. I love the look of these but I have a Seemore that I've started to really like

Ordered a b11 and had it side by side with a special select Newport 2. It’s nice but looks cheap next to a SC. Only thing that looks super premium is the head cover.

How does it look cheap?

Ya still gotta get the spherical fekker into the hole, no matter the brand or price! IMHO get a putting fitting and a few lessons or vice-versa.

Which of these shafts would you recommend for a mid-length putter...140g?

Depending on the build I think the 140 would be great for a 37-39" counterbalanced setup with a like 380-390g head.

I’ve got an old Scotty Art of Putting Newport 2. Obviously a lighter head, based on your testing do you think the 140 shaft would be best suited? Or the 120?
