@@number1ratedsalesman_1997 Some rewards suck but it is absolutely amazing when good rewards are still in stock. The points are so easy to earn as well. However, sometimes it is not great. I think it all comes down to how often you check.

@@seandoesstuff4172 Yeah, it's more so good for the Switch discounts. I can occationally buy some dlc or some games for free. They helped me buy Stardew Valley, the game so good that people BOUGHT it after pirating it to support the developers. Like straight up breaking the law to play a game for free, and then changing your mind to just buy it. Yeah the points are still good

Same here, I was only five when Club Nintendo shut down. I recently got my grandma’s old Wii, and inside Donkey Kong Country Returns was a Club Nintendo code.

It’s even worse for me, I live in Europe and have enough points in game boxes to buy all of the stuff I really want, but I didn’t know so I missed my chance.

I was in my late 20's and raising my daughter on my own when club Nintendo started. So not only did I miss out on all of it... I didn't even know it existed.

I'm 20 and just didn't have a wii or internet for a while. Had a ds though so I did redeem a couple codes here and there as a kid. Never got anything though.

Doesn't stop the physical items from being lame though. The coolest thing I've seen on there is a keychain.

Depends on the person, yeah it is mostly boring stuff like stickers and keychains, but there are some cool animal crossing and mario items like the game case holder and iirc, clothing.

I have a huge stack of Wii and Wii U and DS games and stuff and never touched this service and seeing everyone always praise it makes me sad I had no idea what it really even was as a kid

It really cannot be understated though how fast all the good stuff from Club Nintendo went out of stock and how expensive in coins it all was, you had to be buying serious amounts of Nintendo to afford them. Almost all the really good stuff would disappear within 24 hours, even during the 2002-2006 Nintendo VIP gamecube era where not many people were using the internet much. I would then see this stuff on ebay and used game stores for 100's. The amount of time to open all your boxes, enter in all your codes on a crude slow website and keep checking back everyday for decent rewards was really frustrating, so I'm not surprised if most people just gave up on the service altogether. My Nintendo is obviously just for marketing it's consoles to mobile gamers who likely don't even care about traditional gaming consoles, they know the console fanbase is strong enough with the Switch to keep buying their games and re-releases anyway. Until that changes, the good rewards and especially the physical rewards from Club Nintendo days are truly dead.

I got the game (and my Wii U) a few days after the offer stopped. Though I still got Mewtwo for free and playing as him online a week in advance was so fun. I miss Smash 4... except not really.
