Start: 14th
Finish: 10th
Fastest Lap: 52.721 on Lap 9
Initial start was decent but got murked out of the hairpin. Started 5th C2 and and whilst Peter/Dante were too far up the road, knew I had to get past Reece/Ned (who seemed to have had stellar days) to have a chance of the podium.
Sat behind Fraser for most of the first half, probably was faster than him it felt but I wanted to use him to get past Reece which happened eventually. Going into T1 later on, Coppin seemed to have a dog of a kart and Ned/Coppin came together. I was backing off to make sure I got safely through and then got absolutely dive-bombed by Stef/#85. A, that really hurt my left ribs as he smashed me very late in the corner into a stationary Coppin and it was clear we should be careful because of the incident, and B, it bent my axle. I don't really get why he is so aggressive as it is the second time this season I've been actually hurt by this driver. Literally at the next corner, he drives Ned off the track as well. Whilst this meant I was past both Ned/Reece, I was behind the #85 in C2 with a very vibration happy kart. I had noticed he had been picking up contact/kerb warnings so was sat behind him when he made a terrible attempt at Fraser... and I saw JV pick up his radio :) Once I saw that penalty, I was happy to sit behind, pick up good points and consolidate a C2 podium.
To address the elephant in the room, before the heat after the chequered flag for practice I went to crack my neck, which meant I wasn't looking where I was going. In front, Ned had quickly braked for the slowing pack behind the pace kart and I slammed into the back of him. Managed to apologise to Ned straight after, he said he was fine and didn't seem too surprised given how quick the pack slowed. Regardless, terrible from my part, glad Ned is okay and I'll hopefully never do that again! Almost started the kart on the grass but just remembered.
