Thank you so much for the video! I'd like to find out from you; what exactly will push the megakaryocytes into the systemic blood? How do any of the causes prevent the megakaryocytes from being broken down in the lungs? Thanks!
Have you found anything out? I'm 47, started clubbing about 6 months ago & have lost about 45 pounds unintentionally. Just starting the what's going on journey a few weeks ago.
Hi, I have a question. What do you eat on a daily basis? It might take a few days or a week to notice actually what you’re eating. If you’ll like to share please do. And this is a safe space🤗
I am confused on the number of degrees created when 2 fingers are put together, what is normal and what suggests pulmonary fibrosis. You illustrations show them with only 1 finger. So does it mean that the normal without pulmonary fibrosis shows no hole when 2 fingers are put together, so an almost straight line means there is no disease when you only view 1finger? Your prompt response will be appreciated. Ernesto
the degree measurement is for a single finger at a time. Putting two fingers together and looking for the diamond shape is a quick way of checking for clubbing..but there are no degrees to measure when you do this.
My son has clubbed nails he went to a heart doc those tests came back good and the doc asked him what he thought about the clubbing and that was it nothing more they didn't refer him to any other doc for tests or anything. He was not born with this his nails were normal until maybe teenage years and its not hereditary or anything. So very alarming to me. Why wouldn't a doc wanna run other tests to try to find out maybe underlying problems causing this?
This was me. My nails were fine up until puberty. Not sure of what caused this. Went for tests and all came back fine. One of my possible reasons could be from shortness of breath during sports but when I went through some respiratory and cardio exams, all came back fine. Maybe it’s just genetic at the end of the day.
My grandfather has fingers like that, his brothers, which are my uncles.. And my dad too, and none of them died of anything like thay, my grandfather is still alive and so is my dad and I remember always having them like that, not so much though its just slightly.
I have mild clubbing but no symptoms of any disease. I think I had it probably for years. My parents don't have it.Should I worry about that. Please reply?
Cause and dihnosos are everywahere, but noone knows how to cure thsese fingers ,why anyone cant find a cure,a lot of people around the world suffer bcz of this.
No specific treatment for clubbing is available. Treatment of the underlying pathological condition may decrease the clubbing or, potentially, reverse it if performed early enough. Once substantial chronic tissue changes, including increased collagen deposition, have occurred, reversal is unlikely
does clubbing happen with COPD? all of my digits are clubbed, it started about 11 years age on my toes and then hands about 8 years ago, I thought it was some kind of skin disease. I had a chest x-ray about 5 years ago that showed hyperinflation of the lungs and had PFTs performed a couple of weeks later, a specialist with poor beside manner said asthma (no COPD) but I was in my mid 30's with no previous history of asthma. they told me the hyperinflation was from taking a deep breath. I fear lung cancer since that seems to be the most common result whenever I research digital clubbing. my primary care doctor just treats me like a nervous hypochondriac when I ask about it (my fingers and toes are all deformed now)
I hope you're ok🙏✝️ please get a second opinion. Doctors should never brush things off because it will cause whatever is actually going on, to get worse. Switch doctors straight away if you haven't already. I seriously pray you're doing well.
@@KayciazWorld thank you for the well wishes but unfortunately I'm stuck with that doctor (the reasons why aren't for youtube comments) I do believe that he knows or at least suspects that it's lung cancer but isn't being truthful with me because he thinks that it will cause a mental health crisis, when I really pushed him about it he told me that I don't want lung cancer because that means I only have 18 months to live, maybe it was more or less than that but he treated it as though it was a product I was pursuing or something, if that makes sense. he refuses to order a CT scan for lung cancer screening because he says that having that imaging can cause cancer. I do believe that I am slowly dying of something that could be treated, I imagine that some cancer symptoms can go on for years before the cancer starts to interfere with other organs.
Great explanation! although I feel like I've missed some things because of language. However, it still has me confused, looking for scientific literature I also found that a minimum percentage is due to hereditary. Although - I ask- this could be due to an underlying genetic disease that is never discovered? All my fingers are like this, but to be honest almost all of them look ''normal'' except for the 4 thumbs that are bigger, but all my fingers have a reddish coloration near the nail. Now, asking doctors, some tell me "it's hereditary" since my grandfather also had it and his father, as well as a cousin of mine, and - doctors said - it also proves that 'cause my fingers are not as exaggerated as usually are in clubbing... BUT two of us have asthma (me and my grandfather) So is it because of asthma? my asthma is quite controlled unlike many people I've seen but don't have clubbing, my two brothers also have asthma since they were little and normal fingers. Some doctors - the majority - tell me that it's due to my asthma so wtf... while one tells me that it can be something VERY SERIOUS that I have, and it scares me ... Btw I have this since I was 11-12 yo. I'm very curious, although I don't ''suffer'' from this since as I said, my fingers don't seem so swollen and people don't realize it UNTIL THEY SEE MY THUMBS haha Well anyway I would like not to have them if I could choose, I know that it is possible to "cure" it, but if mine is purely genetic, then not? Sorry so much text, every time I read/watch about this it confuses me more. Elsewhere I found a trustful article that even related it to poor meat processing (or something like that), if you don't know (although you probably do) let me find it and I'll pass it on to you if you're interested. PD. To be sincere I never tried to discover this through medical analysis, I just ask, they watch my finger, asked me some questions and said their verdict. Greetings!

This has got me scared to death too. How are you doing at the moment? I have had this for about a year or two now in my toes and just something made me look on RU-vid. Now I and frightened.
