I don't know why anyone really cares who stole it. I doubt One Direction even knew that there was a video out there similar to that idea no one did till they brought up the fact One Direction was plagiarizing and if they were it wouldn't be the bands fault since they're not the ones producing or directing it. This is an awesome song and an awesome video, and while it sucks that whoever produced One Direction's video ripped it off (especially as this probably took a whole lot of time and effort to make on top of the original idea being ripped off part), it did get me to watch this, so there's a definite bright side. Seriously, I'm kinda in love with this song.
1D production company did not ripped off anything, You cannot rip off a visual effect what have been around for years. This video was made in 2012/2013, the production company who made this use someone else's visual effect idea which anyone can use. These people are claiming that the concept they used with the visual effects was ripped off, and they using the 8 seconds where Louis jumps on the box as the basis of their argument, this 8 seconds is the only thing similar on both videos.

The only major differences between the two videos are that one had a massive budget, fancy location and cute boys in stupid sweaters. And the funny thing is Clubfeet did it BETTER. Vero Rodriguez Neither did the special effects artists for the Matrix invent bullet time, but they did use the effect in a new way as well as improved it, and are credited for the way it's used in films (and video games) today; also, when somebody does the Neo lean-back-to-avoid-the-bullets, everybody it's homage to that scene. Now, I know this isn't the same as far as originality or improvement, but still, to my eyes that last minute looks pretty similar. It could be coincidence of course, but that's just my opinion. And while I completely understand you having a different opinion, and respect it, maybe try it without the "shut up" stuff next time. Ik I'm responding after like 4 years, but I apologize on behalf of all directioners for them being mad because apparently this video was a copy of You and I even though You and I came out like a year later. But also, it's not like 1D was the director for their own music vids. They had directors that planned out the ideas for their vids. So it's not directly 1D's fault. But either way, I apologize for the angry directioners. I myself am a directioner, but I try not to be so angry.

one direction didn't "steal" the video, they barely have any control over what happens in their music videos, and maybe the director, Ben Winston, just liked the concept of this video and decided to use it. they aren't even completely the same, it's just that stop frame sort of thing
je suis directioner et peu être que les 1D on un peu copier mais dans "You and I" il y a quand même des truc en plus (le changement de tête par exemple). Et si on regarde le bon cote des choses la vidéo a maintenant plus de vue grâce a cette histoire :) .

It's more about the principle of originality. I'm sure, with some effort, you COULD replicate this video effect, but the fact of the matter is that you would only be replicating it. Designing, shooting and editing videos is a lot of effort, not just physically, but also conceptually. To say "Oh, I could do that" is fair enough, but you didn't.

Lo dije una vez en la TKM, 1D no hizo plagio. No entiendo qué es lo que quieren lograr con esto. ¿Una hora de fama? ¿O, mejor dicho, llamar la atención de sus fanticas para quedar aún más en ridículo? Si eso es lo que quieren, tendrían que saber que ya lo han conseguido, porque no hay nada más estúpido que todos los movimientos que han realizado desde el momento en que "You & I" salió al publico. Y si vamos al caso de que hipotéticamente se hubiera hecho plagio, la culpa tampoco debería recaer sobre los chicos, porque ellos no fueron quienes tuvieron la idea del vídeo. No, claro que no. La culpa tendría que recaer sobre el director y todo su equipo. Pero como todo el mundo sabe, aplicar técnicas de producción como el "Stop motion" y otras tantas, no es hacer plagio. the fact that ben practically took someone one else ideas is totally unfair. i love one direction since i saw them in xfactor, but i think it is unfair that they have stold idea, and its not the first time, they have done it. like maybe clubfeet did so much work for this idea, and mayve ben, or someone in modest management, found this video and copy it, like no big deal, while clubfeet, spend his time on this video and song. and like i said it is not one direction's first time they have stold or took an idea from someone.

One Direction took their time on the video and song. Remember that the song is recorded way before the video is put out there!! Whatever you watch from movies or music videos it's not the singers or actors ideas it is the directors and producers ideas!! Don't blame it on One Direction! It is not their fault!

El vídeo la letra y todo eso está bien, yo no me quiero meter con eso porque no soy nadie como para juzgarlo, excelentes sus efectos. Lo que si me molesta es que denunciaron el vídeo de One Direction ¿Por que? las ideas son propias. Es verdad, si hay partes en las cuales se parecen, por ejemplo cuando salta en la caja, como lo hizo Louis Tomlinson, pero las ideas son ideas, es cierto que se pueden repetir, pero sinceramente no creo que hayan "copiado" algunas cosas a propósito. Las ideas son cosas que se te ocurren, One Direction no tiene necesidad de copiarle a nadie para que sus vídeos sean un éxito. Creo que esta banda sólo demandó You & I para ganar fama a costa de One Direction, para que nosotras las Directioners pensemos: "Esta es la banda que demando el vídeo de 1D, vamos a ver su vídeo y poner muchos 'no me gusta' así formar bardo y hacernos conocidos". Con respecto a eso, no pueden caer más bajo que ganar fama a través de una boyband conocida mundialmente, con eso puedo llegar a denominarlos PATETICOS. Directioners agree, this video idea was stolen but it's not One Direction's fault, it's Ben wistion's, their video producer, fault. Zaym wrote 4 songs for Four and the management didn't like anyone. So, shit happens all the time. But you don't have the right to judge 1D.

I do not think this story have anything to do with Clubfeet. The production company who made the video is the one tweeting it, asking people to spread the link to the story around the internet. The production company are claiming all they want is someone, Ben or the production company to contact them. Their seriously on a rant on their twitter page.
Tbh one direction did a better version, I mean they fecking morphed into each other. The song was class and they were singing right at us, true they jumped into their own bodies like this chap here.. But I bet there are loads of other videos like that. But tbh this was just him jumping in circles and stff it wasn't that interesting. At least Ben didn't copy completely he added their morphages together, honestly this song sucks.
Oh sweet Jesus, we now have an infestation of One Direction fans coming, with the majority of them proclaiming the One Direction song is better than this song. To those people, I say this: Obviously you would think that, seeing as you are One Direction fans and all. Also, you simply can't compare these songs to each other, as they are both totally different genres of music. As far as the music video goes, it's quite obvious that this video was viewed by the "creators" of the video for One Direction. There is no way that two people/groups, that would be asked to create a music video, would come up with the same idea as each other, when the idea is something so unique such as what's seen in this video. Though I guess you can say it's not so unique now, apparently. But getting back to what's important, that being this song and video. I've got to say, it's a great song and the video is really cool. Ben Winston made the You & I music video with the exact same effects. It was almost too similar. The only difference was that there were different boys and music in the videos. I would've been pretty pissed off if something similar like that happened to me. You shouldn't blame these guys. Nothing against 1D but I do think it's sad that this video has so many dislikes because directioners got mad that they called 1D out. This was not their idea and not their work, they had every right to call them out. Taking credit for someone else's work is a very shallow thing to do. All arguments aside, this song is awesome! :)
