Excellent vid once again. I tend to use cheap acrylics from The Works. 1 Green, 1 yellow and 1 blue. I start with green and then add varying amounts of yellow or blue to add variation. I also tend to go for the darker greens, which, with a yellow or light green dry brush, look epic - even though I do say so myself.

Liam Hoyland I've got some of the same sap green myself, acrylic does seem the way to go. I'll start playing with colours once I get the clumps down :-)

I think the kitchen sponges, w/o the scrub side, wet blended would be awesome.

Grinding/blending foam with a bit of water will help protect the blender motor from burning out
@TheTerrainTutor

Grawlys Lair Actually it's how hard the blades have to work that causes burnout mate, so amount and density is more of a factor than moisture content :-)

Interesting as always Mel. Have you considered using dishwashing liquid for flow-aid?

Bill D. in Iowa I have but I don't think the mix needs it with the moist foam / wet blending technique mate :-)

Daniel Cox A mixture but I'll cover that in the final vid mate :-)

with the wet blending. I saw a RU-vid film where they put ice cubes with the water and the foam. They said that the blades cuts the foam better because theres a hard material in the blender.
@TheTerrainTutor
@TheTerrainTutor 9 лет назад
Benoit Vanderzippe I gave it a quick go and to be honest mate, I couldn't tell the difference. It seems to chop fine anyway so I'd prefer not to complicate things further.

If it is the same, than it is better to use the ice cubes for a gin tonic or something like that. :)

try ice in the blender also I would like to see how you would ''re-dye to'' get 2 or 3 color ''shade'' clumps
@TheTerrainTutor
@TheTerrainTutor 9 лет назад
+Emeric Catudal I didn't see much difference between water and ice to be honest. For the different shades, I tend to mix different colours :-)

I find acrylic is the way to go if you want to control the colour of a material. However the main reason I am in favour of it is due to it's rubber-like end result which means people can drop things on them often and I don't need to worry about redoing it all. I tend to make all landscapes in my games from acrylic injected rubber foams which when done right yields wonderful results. I've dropped my most recent map a few times while making it due to the lack of a work bench since my last one broke during a storm and I haven't had the time to replace it but thankfully the materials I use hold out well. i1076.photobucket.com/albums/w450/Arammu_theGame/2%20Y%20S15s_zps955sqkgp.jpg Give it a go sometime and let me know if you can find any material that is more durable to the kind of abuse clumsy players will inflict upon it.

roy shaw I did look at them but discounted them for not being solid enough but that's just my preference mate, they should work fine with these techniques :-)
