In this episode, I'll show you what steps I performed to finally fix my chatter on my un-restored 1937 Plymouth Business Coupe. These simple steps can be used on all cars and trucks that have a clutch to prevent clutch chatter. My coupe would shake when I let out the clutch from a dead stop in first gear, but now its SMOOTH!!!!

Terry, I want to personally extend my thanks and gratitude for the spectrum, depth and quality of your videos. I know that these take an enormous amount of time. It is generous of spirit and so well done. In tending to my car, I have on many occasions been fortunate that YOU have covered the subject matter. These videos are going to be there for a very long time and, thanks to your kind efforts, these old cars are going to be as well.

Semmerling, Thank you very much for your wonderful comments! They mean a lot to me personally. You really made my day. You're the reason I put this much effort into these where I can help educate and motivate others. I've learned from other RU-vidrs and this is one way to give back.

One of the great difficulties in the antique car hobby is finding quality parts! It’s a great problem. But when you do and it’s installed correctly it makes the driving experience so much more pleasurable! Great and very educational video!

Absolutely Wayne. Reproduction parts are a necessity and a challenge!

I have heard same about the bearing from several people,; just keep your old one. I'm lucky enough to still have the alignment tool that my grandfather made when engine was removed 42 years ago. Thanks for the tips!

Hey Mike, I'm not surprised others are having similar issues. Hopefully, the vendor(s) can make higher quality ones soon.

Thanks Terry for explaining and showing where the problems were with the rebuild. My 50 Plymouth tranny and clutch have been rebuilt recently and I’m not happy with results. Chatter and noisy throw out bearing. I suspect I’m my have the same issues and part defects you did. Between you and Keith ..I know where ti start looking. Now if I just had the talent you two have!

Thanks for the kind words Stan! I feel your pain and hopefully you can get it solved. Nothin' like taking it all apart again and putting back together again, but worth the effort. A smooth clutch is very gratifying and makes the drive so much more pleasurable. Keep me posted on your progress!

Good info Terry. Thanks for sharing. I won't point out one specific seller however there is an awful lot of reverse engineered, cheaply make Mopar parts out there. There are more than a couple self proclaimed "Mopar Experts" selling junk. Viewers be aware. I have actually gotten some good NOS parts from Bernbaums. Some bad unusable parts too that I just threw out.

You bet Keith. I too have received some good repop and NOS parts from them without issue. It sure is frustrating to install parts only to remove and discard them. (Its the same situation with some repop antique Harley parts. I can't escape it!)
