CLUTCH DELAY VALVE REMOVAL In A MK7 VW! Golf | GTI | Golf R. Removing this delay valve completely changed how the car shifts. The biggest issue I noticed was 1 to 2 or 2 to 3 when shifting. That is when the delay was most noticeable. This completely fixed the issue. Combining this with the clutch spring removal and a clutch stop makes the car feel so much better now. This is a MUST DO!

Absolutely the best and easiest clutch mod to do. Makes the car feel so much more responsive when you shift

I think this was my favorite clutch mod. Instantly you feel the difference. It shifts so much smoother now. (Not placebo lol)

So I'm doing a clutch replace on my Mk5 gti and I pulled the clutch bleeder block. I took it apart, put it in the parts cleaner and saw this little plastic thing come out. Where did that come from? What is it for? Now I know...

Try this on a 2020 VWGLI. Did not work out. Remove the small plastic piece after taking out the top part and it loose in the bleeder valve. I actually made a mistake of trying it twice. If someone can send a comment on what I may be doing wrong I would appreciate it. I followed everything he said.

Hi Bro, may I know two things? 1. what you used to catch the brake fluid by hose to some kind of bottle? (is it something what I can buy somwhere?) 2. Where can I find those white plugs to secure the brake fluid leak from both ends of connectors? and what is the diameter of them?

Diego. I need advice. I bought a Golf with manual and stage3. the clutch pedal is somewhat soft and loose. in addition, sometimes it doesn't bounce back completely. I vented. why might this be so?

Hello, what exactly is the little yellow plastic for and have you put the little plastic back?
@tylerwillis7986
@tylerwillis7986 5 месяцев назад
The little yellow plastic part was the CDV (clutch delay valve). Its purpose is to delay the hydraulic fluid in the clutch from returning to the “engaged” side, which results in your shifts being slower. Automakers have used this part in recent years in order to market manual cars to drivers who aren’t very good at manual - it’s supposed to make the car “easier” to drive by bringing the time between gear changes up to the bad driver’s shift timing. Taking this piece out removes the fluid’s flow restriction and will make the car shift in a much more predictable and familiar (to us seasoned manual drivers) manner.
@DJdefslap
@DJdefslap Год назад
When you were test driving, did you try shifting with cruise control engaged? If you did does it affect it at all?
@DArias
@DArias Год назад
During the test drive I did not but I have used cruise control since then and have had 0 issues at all
@BayAreaMike99
@BayAreaMike99 Год назад
Does this improve the clutch coming back up because I feel like sometimes the clutch is slow coming back up if you let off quick
@DArias
@DArias Год назад
It’s more for quicker shifts it allows you to bang gears easier. You may have another issue possibly getting air in the system causing the clutch to feel sort of stuck

It’s very difficult to get into second gear when the car is cold. Could this be related to the delay valve? I have to wait till rpm goes down to 1k before I can shift to second. And sometimes it grinds too. 2019 GTI base model. Thanks.

This means your syncros are bad, from first to second or you need to change the lifetime fluid.
@bakamotorworks505
@bakamotorworks505 Год назад
Did this change the pedal height that the clutch engages/disengages?
@DArias
@DArias Год назад
Does not change. Only changes you’ll feel is that it’s easier to shift quickly and the valve feels a bit more natural if that makes sense
@stathi13
@stathi13 2 года назад
After you bled the clutch, did you have to turn the car on for the clutch pedal to feel normal again? (Not stick down to the ground and have to manually bring it back up)

This delete is moot on stg 2 or higher power levels with an aftermarket clutch. Most just leave it in. Removing it with the stock clutch and DMF may give a more positive feel.
