Seeing how I'm getting a new clutch on my 05 GTO this week, this video helped me see and know what all is going to happen. Nothing like learning! You rock Emily!
wow never knew they had 2 section drive shaft, btw some feel yoke should be marked at the diff to put in same clocking as it came from factory but if it vibrates you can always re-clock it.
Awesome seeing a lady interested in cars. Mantic are from my home town. This place seems to be making a lot of killer Ford/Chev perf gear now. Cool channel Emily. The real deal.
I was looking for Clutches for an LS engine swap for my Camaro about 5 years ago and I found Mantic. Dual disk clutches.. I thought they were a better set up than most Brands.. I think there is a Brand based in TX called Monster that has a rather bad reputation. Modular means that you have to use the Mantic Flywheel too. They require a steel flywheel at the Drag strict and a Heavy thick steel bell housing too.
Keep it up Emily!! Doing a great job! Would love to see more detail as you have time. I know this is a sideline would love to see you get more sponsors so you could go full time. Good luck and keep it up!
Dude movie stars wear contacts. Ha, Ha, Ha,... but I guess I'm just tougher than anyone else,.. because I worked in a machine shop 30 years and wore the safety glasses in my rear pocket,.... until the plant manager rolled by. But machine shops are safer places,... But cars are like rust bombs,....a welding helmet with clear glass if your beating on shit.
gday Emily awsome to see a chick get in and get her hands dirty :) i have only just found your you tube channel and am enjoying your content from accross the pond here in australia, also good to see you driving a aussie build car the holden monaro here , pontiac gto there, keep up the great work and keep learning
Best video so far, in my modest opinion. I like the 15mn format, the short intro, more tech detail, I love to see diferent cars nd how they have been put together. Good job. On a side, what are you supose to do with the clut h fancy case when you finish with the install? My guess carry a spare one in the trunk to show off, it is a beatiful peace of kit. The Aussys going over the top as usual.
With eyes as gorgeous as yours I would be wearing safety specs lol. Great show tho. My girl is like your twin but with dark hair. I just wifed her because she enjoys spending time in the shop. Keep it up
Emily, what is the wheel setup on Roxy? Size of wheels and backspace and rubber size? I love the looks of her stance and i'm gonna have to get something new for mine. The ones that came on It is the wrong offset and rub on every bump. Thank you so much and thanks for sharing all your videos that y'all do.!
Hi young lady, fyi I have heard that when you are welding don not wear cantacts as they will stick to your eye. Love your videos. You and yours be safe. Peace.
nice install. quick question....you have an electric impact gun, which you seemed to have used for the flywheel to crank bolts. Why didn't you use it more as opposed to doing it by hand? I certainly understand hand tightening, but to get it apart i personally prefer to use the air/electric tools. Looking forward to more vids
Two words: tool sponsor. 😂😂 You're completely correct, it's much faster and easier to use the air tools! Maybe someday I'll get some air guns from them! 😉 Thanks for the support!!!
Great video! I just installed a Mantic 9000 series twin disc in my C6 Z06, but won't be able to do my break-in miles until my new intake port seals come in for my intake manifold. Pedal effort after a good bleed seems about like my stock LS7 clutch. How do you like the engagement of the clutch? Easy to drive? I'm excited to get my break-in miles done, and hope the car is as drivable as it was on the stock clutch. Side note, we found this Mantic is a full 20lbs lighter than the stock unit!
Great video, and I will check out Mantic for my WS-6 Vert. Just a FYI, be careful holding the head of a torque wrench while tightening, It can throw off the accuracy . And can someone sponsor her air tools!!
+Steve Cox And not holding the torque wrench head with throw it off even more, if you can get anywhere close before ot rounds the head from falling off.
You just built a top fuel or funny car 2 disk set up an a 3rd disk an hang on mamma an one piece driveshaft an that gto rearend will fit the z car alot stronger
Where and what size bolts did you use to push the bellhousing off? I'm stuck.... I've been laying under my car for 3 days beating it. I'm about to empty a jar of moonshine in the driver seat and burn this thing to the ground
How much $ for clutch and what up rating? Had rubber doughnut and carrier bearing eliminated with one piece driveshaft but will increase yoke angle and frt & rear ujoint wear. If the shit Don't stink don't stir it! If you do go big with aluminum shaft. Love to hear an Aussie pronounce (Aluminum), Aye.
I got a Mantic as well couldn't effort the twin disk. Im jealous, where did you get that AN fitting line that you disconnected going to your slave? I would like to do the same.
Nice video.. One question does the extra hole on the flywheel matter as far as orientation go. I noticed it went from the 7oclock to the 4 oclock with out any description on it. Just curious as ill be installing one soon enough. Thanks
Hey there! I am unaware of the significance of the hole! (I watched the install video provided by Mantic, they make no mention of it, either!) I did move in the video because a felt one of my bolt heads slide out of the channel so I had to pop it back off real quick and tap it back in! 😊👍🏼
+Garmans12valve Oh gosh, you're a funny one!!!! I had a few typos up there- ugh. Kinda half asleep editing more video! Suspension on the Impala, coming soon! Keep watching bud! Appreciate ya!
+Emily Williams yeah from what I've read/seen Mantic makes some awesome stuff, pretty neat setups too. Was introduced to them through the guys at MightyCarMods on their other channel when they had a friend do a turbo V8 Stagea build, seems like they make product for all kinds of rides. Keep up the good work 👍
I have looked into the mantic clutches for awhile and while they look nice and everything i think they are way over priced. if you have the extra to spend then why not i guess.
I have 2002 z28 and just got a GTO T56 because i was misinformed the rear mount shifter and the slightly shorter output shaft is not gonna work in my F body ....Do you know if I can just get a steel drive shaft cut made and welded a little longer from summit ? Or do I really have to have a shop put in Fbody output shaft in so I can use the stock 41.75 in driveshaft Any help Much Appreciated
Hey Emily my names Jesse I just started beefing up 04 old dirty Billy goat. I watched a few of your videos when I was doing my heads/cam was interested in how you got sponsored to help build your car or where to start.
Looking for info on clutches and found this. Emily... oh my gosh..... what kind of clutch was that again.... Never mind. I'll just replay some of those close ups of Emily. Sorry to sound sexist.... but...mmmmmm ok back to reality.... or not... So impressed with you Emily..... Best thing about cars... the car people you get to meet, or in this case, watch.
Carrier bearing? Naah instant tailshaft whip. I notice you always do bolts up in sequence. Undo them the same. I have seen clutchs warp undoing them like you did. And shudder and not disengage properly after.
sonic tools should sponsor you!! i was thinking of picking up a full cart like your size. but i think ive seen you and your husband using them i might just pull the trigger on a set. are you guys happy with them?
Ryan Hooper They are a partner company! Those guys are awesome, the tools are badass and while I haven't broken one yet- all you have to do is send them a pic of your busted tool and they ship you out a new one! 👊🏼 I certainly suggest them!! 😎
I bought the same clutch to fit into my LS2 swapped in a '70 Z28 Camaro about 2 years ago and its still in its good looking suitcase, I feel shame to hide its beauty in that ugly bellhousing!. Have you noticed any reduction on the pedal effort?, it should be lighter than stock as per what they say.
Groupwar NA It's been so long since I've ran the stocker, I barely remember the feel! Lol! It's an easy clutch, but probably not easier than stock? Once it's broken in, after 500 miles or so- the pedal is like buttah!! I understand keeping it in the case though!! Haha!
I have Pedders track 2 kit with the 2inch drop- it took some adjustment to get my camber evened out where my tires wore evenly but she's been good since! It's been....like....7 years!!
+Zo6LS7427 The Holden IRS system is renowned in Aus for being a pain to lower and keep decent alignment. It throws Camber, caster & toe out just in general travel. Let alone when you lower it.
Hey guys had a quick question. I've got an 06 GTO with a Hendrix stage 3 clutch in my car and it's killing me cuz of this damn traffic in the ATX, I'm seriously considering a Mantic clutch but was wondering what the pedal pressure is like on your setup?. Thanks Y'all
David KEMENESI It's really nice, I've ran a spec, it was suuuuper stiff- and the LS7 I had was like buuuuutter, this one isn't as easy as the LS7 but I really like the drive ability for how strong it is!!
Flying Sparks Garage I forgot to mention I'm running a TVS 1900 setup on my car making a little over 500 at the wheels would y'alls clutch hold that power level cuz I may go e85 down the road and see if I can make a bit more Hp.
