Replacing the clutch on my Pajero and the lessons I learned throughout the process
Tools that you will need
Clutch Kit
Clutch Alignment Tool
Spanner Set - using mostly 12 / 13 / 14 / 17 / 19
Socket Set, Wrench and Extensions
Jacks and jack supports
Brake Fluid for Clucth - use as required in Car Manual
Catchment holder
Steps in replacing clutch
1. Disconnect battery and take vehicle out of gear
2. Remove Gear & Super Select Shift levers
3. Remove Tail Shaft and front Shaft
4. Drain Transmission Liquids
5. Remove Exhaust Pipe
6. Remove Starter Motor
7. Remove / Move Slave Cylinder
8. Start removing Bellhousing Bolts
9. Remove rubbers on Bellhousing to get access to Thrust Bearing
10. Once Thrust Bearing is released remove Front Cross Member, making
sure Bellhousing is supported
11. Disconnect wiring
12. Move Transmission Bellhousing backwards to get access to clutch
13. Remove Clutch and Pressure plate,
14. Clean Up - Before starting to replace clutch, ensuring you leave surfaces clean
15. Use the Clutch Alignment Tool to keep clutch centered during installation
16. Lubricate as required by Clutch Kit instructions
17. Bleed the Slave Cylinder and once all air bubbles is removed check clutch play
