How can over 700 give this thumbs down??? Waylon is a absolute ICON !!! Travis Marty and Hank Jr. In my opinion they are Country Music!!!! All of us have friends but few can say Waylon is a friend!!!
my theory on how 700 people can turn thumbs down on Waylon, and country in general: the music makes them feel emotions they have been afraid of all their lives.
@@danconway5505 LoL. Hank had 9 albums on the charts at the same time in 1982. Never been done before or since. Entertainer of the year 5 times in a row. I think that kills your upcoming weak reply.
As an old guitar picker from Louisiana, I sit here with tears in my eyes over the loss of Waylon Jennings. He was extra nice to me and he didn't have to be. He loved all his fans and musicians alike. I thank God for loaning me Waylon when I was first learning to play professionally. I spent many a day with him just pickin and learning new riffs from him. His Wife, Mrs. Jessi was tops as well. I still keep in touch with her and Shooter. Ladies and Gentlemen, Waylon Jennings, THE finest man and Musician I ever had the honor of playing behind! I pray I will see him once again when my time comes. We love you Brother!
Makes you realize how fortunate we have been to live in a time of so many great country entertainers. I never thought we'd see the day that C&W changed drastically but so much of the newer stuff is just glorified pop music. God bless Waylon and all of these music greats.
@@helendornig9380 I was also raised on the face's people see in the country music my family had a lil down home bluegrass band,we .all of us liked play n those old ones as well it will not die even when it's my time to pass on. Love the Waylens and the songs that start with me good old boys.
This is my friend who passed away from a stroke at 23, his favorite "sad song" I love hearing it every time! RIP Cole Bauman there is still a few of us outlaws to come home!
Waylon was there definitely in Spirit! Even tho Waylon's gone from eyes, his music will forever live on. Fabulous song by 3 of the best! Well done Hank, Travis & Marty!

Being a Australian I never got to see Waylon live but since I was a little boy he been my favourite of all time. Always was & always will be the greatest in my humble opinion
Today's country music.cant hold a candle to whst was good ole down home country music....there are just a few who still put their heart and soul into their craft....i have listen to the likes of Hank Williams. Kitty Wells. Ernest Tubb..Marty Robbins. Webb Pierce.Eddie Arnold. Ray Price. Skeeters Davis. Wanda Jackson. since I was a kid in the 50s. Just to name a few.... That was great country music...
even after all these years, still get the chills and the tears still fall for the greatest outlaw of em all. Waylon has and always be my favorite outlaw
Never again will the world see the likes of Ole Hoss. Even though he looked tough and mean , he was a very gentle soul who became a Christian a few years b4 he passed.
Every body that dies doesn't go to heaven, Jesus Christ said in John 3:3 You must be born again to enter into the kingdom of God. People that do not repent bust hell wide open . You don't live like the devil and become a saint upon your last breath . Your reward will be the lake of fire for eternity.
@@gssracing1 have you ever read the rest of Matthew chapter 7 ? Do you have any clue about being born again ? You don't keep living like the devil and have the Holy Spirit dwelling inside of you . Born again people change and become new , not stay the same ! You know the tree by the fruit it bears ! Read past the first two verses in ch 7.
We were just talking about that very thing. Though, I'd add strait, Johnson and Reba to the list, but it's sure growing short, those old outlaw types from the 70s. Breaks my heart 💔 to have lived to see it and the world today.
We have a Savior of sorts who has exploded onto the scene in the last 5 years in Chris Stapleton. He can Write, Sing, and Pick equal to or better than anyone in Country Music Today!
He was much more then a highwayman ..he broke all records in country music..1st.. Platnuim and triple platnuims that came out of Nashville..first one ever to be hired unseen..first artist to own his own music rights..much much more then any and didn't brag or show off and helped many without telling..Waylon God Dam Jennings that's WHO..
You guys couldn’t have picked a better way to remember him i have to believe in my heart. He was looking down and smiling and enjoying the music and performance
Marty Stuart is soooo underated. What a great talent, Being humble here in this video, letting his friends take the accolades. Being in Lester Flatt's band as a kid, then working for Johnny Cash, quite the resume. Outstanding !
Amazing , I was just watching one of Marty's shows with his guest Hank lll , I told my girlfriend not thirty minutes ago that Marty was underated and a great talent , And yes, Now that you mentioned it , A very humble soul indeed . My Grandmother loved him , but she called him by his family name , I just refer to him as Marty.
Lots of the younger generation is starting to appreciate older Country, Rock a Billy, Southern Rock and Classic Rock. Find something new and give it a try.
Anybody that really knows county music will not argue that bocephus is the greatest singer/songwriter/musician country music history. I talking about all 3 together. writing it. Singing it and playing it.........
Thanks for the heads up on the bottom of the page and the top of the page but u have too understand that there are a lot more of God chosen people who have been there for us in the morning and night Willey Gorge lefty Conway Johnny too many of the down too real country God cososon ; hand picked too put the facs of life in too words Ching Ching bow to the words from you. who is going to till there shoes. ??? !!
Waylon became a believer shortly before his death. That guaranteed his way to heaven and an eternal life with Christ. Rest in peace, Hoss. We miss you down here but we know you're singing for the Lord now.
How are you doing todaY Kathie ? Its really nice having you on here .. I saw your profile on here and i think we definitely are on the same page on many levels. Trust, communication, loving, honoring, understanding, patience and respecting your partner. So crucial to provide balance. This is what creates such great chemistry between two people that are committed to one another.
He came to a casino up the road 5 or 6 years ago. My cousins wife mentioned he was coming, but the tickets were too high. I owed them a favor and bought 4 tickets, because I knew he might not come through again. The tickets total was over $1000 and Hank didn't play any nonsense. They all decline around 70. Definitely one of the best.
I saw Hank in Savannah Georgia in 92 he put a tremendous show I was so glad I went he’s always been 1 of my favorite country stars !! This song is truly fantastic the lyrics are haunting but if you listen to them close you feel a sense on overwhelming emotions and relief !! Thank You Hank,Travis and Marty for this amazing performance !!
I was in the Army at NCO School when I saw that on the news. I was heartbroken. He was an Awesome singer and writer. Gone but not forgotten... I know someone who reminds me of Waylon. And if they ever do a movie about him he needs to play Waylon. RIP Waylon Jennings...
Dear Waylon, As the years go by fewer and fewer young people know your songs. Fewer and fewer people can hear your song and feel the emotion you convey through music. Fewer and fewer. HOWEVER... There are enough of us! Enough of us with kids who will show thier kids your music and thier kids will show thier kids. You, friend are a long way from fogotten. ♡ Forever in our hearts. RIP Waylon.
I am 40 and was reintroduced to Waylon a while back. I listen to him daily now, and my 7 year old daughter loves him too. We recently paid our respects to Waylon at his graveside in Mesa AZ. She instantly recognized him as "The Dam Builder". Rest In Peace Hoss.
Yea.im 64 yr. Old have 3 son who like Waylon they have 4 sons who likes Waylon, hey don't take much about 5 or6 songs they hear at young age and bam they are Waylon fans forever
We miss his music here fr Navajo Nation of the man we knew when upon the Western Navajo Fair n Tuba City,Az.- YazzieOzzy👍✌🎵🎶🎼🎸😎😊😘his music inspire the 70's / 80's 🙌
As food vendor who participates in the Navajo Nation fair and 4th of July celebrations in Window Rock, one of Waylon's last concerts was in Window Rock. Waylon loved the Navajo Nation, and after being there several times, I know why, in all the places we have served food, the Navajo Nation is the one place we cannot wait to go back. We know what Waylon felt when he was there.
This is American made music, pure Americana. Canadian country singers joined and kept it going over the years, but America made it and sang it. This is culture, this is a lifestyle and work ethic, this is family and friends and a whole lot of drink, smoke, guitars, fiddles mandolins, bonfires and women. I will die listening to this music.
PIR Waylon! Definitely my favorite outlaw! Your double live record is in my CD player damn near year round! The sound you and mooney put together is as genuine as country can be! Now that Mooney is there with ya raise some hell for us still walking this Earth!
Beautiful Tribute to our beloved Waylon Jennings. Thank you Hank, Travis and Marty. Waylon was a very good friend of mine. He called me The Ja'net lol. Oh how I miss him
Wow these guys are awesome. Waylon would have loved to be right up there singing with them. That’s just pure country talent. I could listen to them day and night. Love love love these guys.
For all his reputation as a hell-raiser, sounds like when Bocephus was in the pew, he paid attention. We are all prisoners for Christ, and thank God for that. I listen to this performance over and over again. Thanks, Hank.
These guys make my truck driving job so joyful i wanna be burried with these songs .. Merle Haggard Hank Williams Sr Jr Waylon Jennings Johnny Cash George Jones George Straight Bruce Lee Jerry Reed Johnny Paycheck Willie Nelson Garth Brooks Red Sovine Charlie Daniels ... they keep my soul alive❤❤
Thank you Gentlemen & Waylon would be so Proud of the way you hold him in your heart. And thank you Waylon for doing all you did foe each and everyone of us to hold you in out hearts… God bless you Waylon
❤️ Beautiful what a tribute to Waylon Jennings. My heartfelt empathy to his Family and Friends for the loss of a great country singer.! RIP Waylon Jennings Amen
still get tear in my eye when I watch this. Waylon may your music and life live on through the decades. and influence todays country artists more and more
What a great song!!! Waylon's greatest hits was the first cassette tape I purchased. His contributions in music and tv are still loved and appreciated today 17 years after his passing. If you want real country music pick up some Waylons tunes. You may be gone from Earth but you are not forgotton.
Loved the trio of Travis, Marty & Bocephus (hope I spelled it right). It's nice to hear different artists sing & play together so beautifully. Especially in a tribute to another great artist. You will always be missed, you ole outlaw you! Norma Jean Morrissey
I was raised listening to Hank Sr and was a teenager when he Country "outlaws" were recognized for their contributions to a truly American style of music and have been a Hank Jr fan since the first album he put out hit the record store shelves
I've been around since we were all fuzzy faced with this truly American music and I've gotten VERY emotional of late. No matter who you are, if you are listening to it, it part of it. Can this old soldier get a god-damned HOORAH!?!
Stunning, anyone who says different, certainly doesn't understand country music, I've played with my dad God rest his soul, mind you only around the kitchen table, but we did our best. I miss playing with dad. But Waylons music will live on for ever.
Watching this video, I can't help to stop and think of the irreplaceable singers... including these great artists in this video.... God help us all who were raised on real country music!!!!! #wereonlyhereforawhile
