Early 1990's, I miss those days! Before I knew what Road Slugs were ( Cow & Calf ), they would grab my attention in an instant, wondering why would anyone cut a locomotive in half. Since they don't need no diesel engine or prime mover, just traction motors, made more sense.
108, 110 and 117 were bought by Trillium Railway. 117 was scrapped a few years ago because they couldn't fix it. 108 and 110 still run to this day and still in original paint.
+TheTVGuy45 Yes you are correct. Several years ago I met the President & owner of Trillium Railway at a model railway show! I also have a number board from 106 that was given to me after it was retired.
+Taylorover9001 - The Cando Railfan It is quite possibly that the leading and trailing unit equipment has been moved, modified or replaced. It is also possible that they were just mu'd without using the hump yard controls
+Nathan Fowler It is an un-powered unit that takes its electrical power from the locomotive to which it is attached. The extra traction motors on the slug use the power to drive the wheels and this gives extra traction especially at slow speeds.
