Sooooooooo.... I want to put my 2 cents in on this video. That measurement wasn't accurate per what was said. The people had to guess the dimension of the height of the currency. That being said that height gauge wasn't positioned accurately measuring only the bills. That measurement also included all the currency money bands which add to that dimension. Ijs. 🤔🤔🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣

Thanks for another great video!! Also, congrats to Jamison on the win. Machining is an awesome and rewarding trade. That is what I started doing after high school, but now after many years have transitioned into engineering. Still closely related to machining, since almost all the tooling I design is machined by our inhouse machine shop. Even though I do not work in a machine shop every day, I still spend a lot of time in ours and still have a love for machining. Look forward to more great content in the future!!

I work with very old Yang machines. Primitive compared to what your videos show. But what once solved my chatter problem was centering the boring bar in the collet. Alignment without fancy tools. Just "guestimate" . Not easy for a novice looking into a dark, old machine.

I think this is very nice info when you’re machining a block of material, but how about when you’re machining a welded part, that you’ve already have a finish product and just machining some key features and the parts vibrates Would there be any advice’s?

Awesome video. “Chatter” is a bitch and can destroy any workpiece at any time. Over the years I have had many mentors give advice on reducing chatter. They have all gave similar advise. First thing first make sure your setup and tooling is rigid. Avoid using a vise, shorten your tool as much as possible, and avoid machining parts that extend from the work holding device. Next anywhere you can use cast iron clamps, cast standoffs, or hardwood blocks to clamp the workpiece. Lastly, if your setup and process is solid, put pure water on it. I know it goes against everything machinists have been told, but it works. I have used this trick many times while machining long parts on the lathe. During machining 15’ 3.5” pump shafts for WIER pump, chatter almost ruined the first of three workpieces. I had steady rests and follow rests and still had extreme chatter. I broke out the water in a spray mister and the chatter disappeared. I don’t know exactly why this works but it does. To this day I will use that trick after eliminating all other contributing factors.

Chatter is causing too much issues. Decreases spindle and tool life. Actually there is a program that solves these problems. Malinc developed such a amazing program that saves a lot of time. It shows you a graph about depth of cut/spindle speed and you can setup your cam avoiding chatter zone. Tbh it could not be suitable for single part operation but for mass production its amazing. Im wondering why titan not using cutPro/ChatterPro? Also i love your job, please keep up the good work :)
@johanneslippert1052
@johanneslippert1052 Год назад
cutPro is fckn expensive and takes a lot of work to implement. For single part operations I'd suggest to use Toolscope from Ceratizit or a simple Accelaration sensor mounted on the spindle. It's wild to see how high this jumpes as soon as you get in the area of natural frequency of machine, part and tool.
@ipadize

3:08 but i dont get how the big diameter would improve stiffness, if the part between the big diameter and the spindle has a way smaller diameter.

You guys just picked him because his story... not his skills... for guessing the thickness... I kinda feel ripped off... because my guess was much closer and I’m in the exact same boat as this guy. New to the trade. About to get married this year and start a family... you guys said in the first video you where giving it away to the closest guess... then just changed the rules to best story and most likable and voted on it like it was a popularity contest. That’s not honest.

@Sara-TOC 2 года назад
There was no dishonesty here. I went back and rewatched that video. To be ELIGIBLE for the giveaway, you had to do 3 things. 1) Subscribe to the channel. 2) Explain how manufacturing changed your life. 3) Guess the thickness of the money stack, to which Titian then explained how he'd get the measurement. Nowhere was it stated that the contest was based off the closest guess.

Why not offer a job or a paid internship rather than giving away a bunch of 1$ bills. And let's be ultra clear here. Your machinists aren't machining anything. All they do is push buttons and do math. The machine does all the work. Yes they may have the occasional tool interference or trick way to write a tool path. But a cnc machinist is a generalized term for operators. To be called a machinist you have to be able to file a 2" square block symmetric. You have to be able to pick up and repair threads on a manual machine. You guys should be called program writers and button pushers. I'm not trying to hate here really, but why don't you actually show someone how to do your job. From start to finish. I bet it's because they might steal your work afterwards.
@wildin13
@wildin13 2 года назад
Well first thoughts is to call you certain words but ill skip that and just say its not quite the same. You wouldn't say a professional racing driver ISNT a driver because times have changed from when everything was manual and the drivers worked on cars too... As a professional programmer/setter/operator myself I can tell you its not the same as it used to be but it is in no way easier. Times change and so do the problems and their solutions. The only difference is I'm not physically turning the handles anymore.

@machinist1337
@machinist1337 2 года назад
@@TITANSofCNC definitely been in the academy videos. It's mostly the boss man talking life lesson on how to be a successful person rather than machining. I actually like your channel I'm not trying to bash. Really. But there are aspects of manual machining and repair that you do not learn from being a cnc machinist. You have to walk before you can swim. Giving someone knowledge of cnc machining before manual machining is a bad way to teach. It's the hammer is your only tool so everything is a nail. I once again will say I do like your channel. But it's more philosophy and attitude not actual teaching of machining. Show me a video where guy goes from part order to finished part. All offsets work piece setup. Tool selection Yada Yada.
