CNC Shaped MDF Doors 

I basically agree, it depends on the balance of work going through the workshop at the time. There are things the cnc could be doing in that time that are more profitable, in which case it might be better for staff to cut and attach a pine moulding to a simple door. But if staff are piled out with other work and the cnc is at idle, then we could do the doors this way. The time when it’s definitely a job for the cnc is funny shaped doors, especially curved mouldings - then this is definitely the solution

Yes I spotted that bone shape in progress too! The longest process was the fine shaping of the profile. I agree we could design a profile to match the curve of larger rounded bits in a minimum of passes, then just get the fine tool to square off into the corners

It’s a dense board so fairly heavy yes. But it also holds screws well (when screwed into the face/rear of board not the edge). We mount them on concealed hinges and have never had issues with the hold of the 35mm hinge boss and screws into the back of the door. For th connection to the carcase we use the type of mounting plate that has euro screws pre-mounted, fitting into 5mm diameter predrilled holes. Apart from all that, it’s a case of specifying the appropriate quantity of hinges per door. And if a door is particularly large and heavy we would step up to using the Sugatsune J95 heavy duty concealed hinges
