Maybe there is a causal relationship here? Maybe there are "not too many female engineers" because those men already in the field choose to show off a CNC machine by making a naked woman? This is one of those weird things about institutional/ingrained sexism. I agree that people should generally be tough, but I also feel that things like this drive smart women out of the field. Women aren't well represented in STEM jobs, and maybe it's because we make them feel unwelcome.

If you rely on the names of the publicity for buying a machine, you really will buy all that are show on the tv, right? Anyway....not too many female engineer over there, and the ones....will not be so stupid to care about that, will only rely on the technical data of the machine. I bought some cncs, one of them a High of the series 1000, and I can tell you is one of the best I never bought , much far superior to 2 of the Rolands I unfortunatelly have.

No, I love the female form. But using it to showcase a product is a risky path. It represents a subtle sexism in the engineering world.
