when you get better with your drawing it will take less than half the time 😊 also if you put a machine torch with your set up you dont ever have to remove it the hand held just plugs in ... great video though thanks for sharing

I don't think there's much time to be saved in drawing, it took us 12 min. to import, interpret and export to a cut file... A machine torch could be helpful, but with our quick change setup you'd only save like a minute in swapping consumables. If you were primarily doing CNC cutting than a machine torch would be better, but we do a lot of one off cutting so that's why I prefer the hand torch. The main downside of a hand torch is getting water in the trigger, but with our splash guard it remedies that problem too... I'm glad you liked the video, thanks for the feedback.

@@911Motorsports i could import that pic and draw it in a about 2 minutes and send it .... i use libre cad with pronest but then again i draw everything i do so for me its just nicer to draw it and cut it . but i understand why its faster for you to do it manually... i just like cutting with my machine

just because its faster, doesn't mean its better ... stop working hard.

Speed to quality was why we did this comparison. This is about the limit of where hand cutting beats CNC cutting. If the bracket was more complex, than CNC would be worth it... The other thing to factor in is the cost of our Plasma Stencils vs a CNC setup.

I bought your templates years ago and I like them, I still use my CNC table 9/10 times unless im away from the garage. It looks like you kept the stopwatch running when you remounted the torch to the CNC adding 6min to the "CNC time" which is not a fair time comparison. There is there is a big difference between using a CNC table with how clean/smooth and precise the outcome is compared what a person can do by hand.... Please continue to make great products and advertise them as such.

We did pause the time to switch over to CNC mode, however it looks like the scene where I mentioned it got cut from the final video. Thanks for pointing that out. That 6 minutes was the whole CNC time of loading, layout, dry run and cutting. It's great to hear you've got a place for our Plasma Stencils too. This type of bracket was the break point between hand simplicity to CNC precision that I wanted to figure out. For me hand was the winner, but for you it sounds like CNC would be the winner. Thanks again for the feedback!

POINTLESS topic. CnC is 2x as fast on its slowest moments, providing you to do something while it works better than you can.

It's only faster once you hit the go button. Getting the part drawn and setup is where the extra time comes into play, especially for a custom part that doesn't have tight tolerance.
