I feel stupid for asking on an earlier video if you were inspired by the fractal north case. Its obvious your skill in woodworking goes way back. It's really commendable that you're multi talented in things. This is art. You know what would be cool, is if you made a case that looks like an item thats usually made of wood in the first place. Like a piano, a boat, a building, something like that.
Quick tip to avoid router drift : route the other way, always with the guide on the left ! The cutting efforts on the bit will help pushing the router base against the fence, thus avoiding escapes if you loosen the lateral pression 😉 Wood, especially when thermalised, is pretty weak in cross grain direction (not to mention cracks) as you discovered 😱 Another nice PC in the end 👍
The 3D printed sanding stick at 10:33 made me smile. I love the use of it for custom tools/jigs. The possibilities seem endless. Beautiful build, the Lamborghini louvers inspiration stood out and is a great aesthetic yet functional touch for something that needs to breathe. Did you ever consider pushing the inspiration further and mounting the panels from underneath to hide the fasteners maybe? If feasibility was an issue highlighting them with the brass screws makes sense
I agree I love the practicality of a 3d printer for stuff like this. That's an interesting idea, I havent considered, mounting from the bottom. Thanks for the suggestion :)
What a true piece of art you've made! I can see you've put a lot of heart and soul and also, a lot of thought into this build. You've conquered many challenges along the journey and the result is just as ashtonishing as your expectations as you have imagioned. Absolutely great!
Your cases are amazing functional art and have a beautiful precision and linier design that is awe provoking to say the least. BTW I don't know what you do for your workouts but your body shows the same amount of care and time as your cases. It would be nice to know, if it isn't too personal, how you train. I love your content, it is very satisfying to watch considering the level of OCD I also have and I hope you continue to make this soothing, inspirational and amazing content.
I have an old Zalman Z11 case with similar angled vents on the top (very Lamborghini, you're right), but I just ripped them off to make space for a cleaner look... and eventually reskin the case with wood :D Your videos are a great source of inspiration. Thanks.
Sir I must say, if I could pay you to build me a custom case with pc parts with your fantastic finishing touches I would certainly do so. You are masterful with your design, creativity, and finish. Pure artistic talent.
Working with wood is impractical to manufacture for a pc case and fragile, as you have shown in this video, also the work you have to put into it to make it look good. I commend you for your patience and talent to create these beautiful cases, it's not for everyone because it's an art!
I'm... Impressed. To say the least. for such a small channel, you have very good videography skills and pleasant audio. Your video also maintains a good flow and keeps things entertaining without them getting repetitive. The aesthetic of your case is refined and profession, I love it. Keep up your amazing work!
I think a wider gap on the side panels, or maybe just different shaped gaps could improve the noise levels a bit (the only negative point of the build, to be honest). Nice work!
I was excited for this video after following along with your Instagram posts. Did not disappoint! Amazing design and execution, as usual. By the way, which 3D printer do you use? And would you recommend it?
Thanks for following along, and glad it was worth the wait. I actually switched printers half way through this project. Went from a Anet A8 to a prusa mk3. What a difference it makes! The prusa is great just hit print and the results are almost always great. No fine tuning needed. I got it second hand for a good price. But these days there are many great units from the likes of bambu labs that might be better/faster if your budget allows
3:27 I have that same saw and I have had it for about 35 years now. I got a new one of the same model so I now have 2 of them. It's an amazing saw and I am shocked at how long it has lasted and still works to this day with all its power that it came with the day that I bought it 35 years ago.
It has been great to be following your journey all the way from the first builds and see how far you've come! Excellent work once again! There's always something new and different. This video was in my backlog for way too long, sorry for that. That should not happen because your builds tickle so many of my interests all at once. Again, you got me very intrigued to start building something similar, but the first step seems the hardest lol. One thing that came to my mind was that if you still have the CNC, you could try to make those sidepanels out of the same acrylic as the top slats. I think it could tie the build together even more.
Thanks for the support since the beginning, appreciate it. No apologies needed we are all busy with our lives. Great idea for the side panels using the CNC
I absolutely love your cases! I wish I had the space and tools to build something like this. I just can't afford all of those tools to build something this nice... haha
Awesome build! Looks really impressive, and I like the way the GPU is vented with the acrylic. With the acrylic panels, you can further refine them by polishing the edges after using a laser or CNC. Will make for a more cleaner glass like look for the panels
Incredible work !! I love the amount of care and work you put in the details. A real work of art ! Do you by any chance sell those builds ? Not just the plans to make it, since I don’t have the tools or skills ;) ?
camera quality definitely improved, really like how the acrylic panels go with those brass screws and the fans of the GPU, the dark wooden frame looks amazing. One thing I'd like to suggest, which of course is personal preference and definitely not required since the focus of the video lays on the process of building, is that maybe you could use some out of focus background decoration (e.g. Plants when building with wood) to accomplish the look of the PC. Please do not take this as an offence, this is only supposed to be a suggestion. :>
I love that you started selling your designs. It's ok if you don't hand hold the buyers XD At least you gave us something to work with in the first place. Will you be selling digital designs for the older builds too? I'd love to buy the one for the OCD build.
Yeah spent some extra time finalising the design file before releasing the video this time. I will get around to that eventually but that build is an entirely different beast, much more complex...
magnificent build! Good job as always 🤌 I wonder if you can explore new design that incorporate wood + rattan/cane weaving so the case will look like a furniture. Once again, well done bravo 👏👏
Your work is amazing. I would definitely buy one that has panels that are already pre-made. So when it got to my front door, I could assemble. Also, because I don't have/afford all the required machines to make such beauty, I have to buy if available for purchase.
@@mxcbuilds6633 not ideal, for Nvidia cards the ideal delta is max 20°C (the difference between the actual temp and the hotspot), even in an extreme stress test like FurMark. On the other hand, it won't harm the GPU. It looks horrible, but the GPU can run without any problems (and FurMark is far from a real world use). AMD cards, for example, have hotspot temperatures of 110°C as "within operating range". I assume it's not a case problem, but not an ideally designed GPU cooler. Udervolting GPU by a bit can help significantly in this instance.
have you ever considered making wooden side panel for popular cases like the SAMA IM01? This layout is exactly what I'm running in the IM01, except I run an MATX mobo, would love to be able to replace the panel with woods panel for aesthetic
I think there any many people already laser cutting wooden panels for existing cases on Etsy. I tend to prefer the engineering challenge of creating my own case from scratch. But panels may be something I start in he future
@@mxcbuilds6633 they stabilize the wood with resin of multiple colors or no color making it waterproof, non porous and no more expansion and contraction. Its quite beautiful especially ANY burl wood
You would have better thermals if the GPU wasn't pulling in cool air from the top of the case. I really like the ingenuity in this build though, great job, keep it up!
