You can be happy he banned them and countless other journalists all you want but it also proves that this was never about Freedom of Speech. It was just about the people you hated. It’s all hypocrisy and not staying true to your beliefs. Elon and is doing exactly what he complained about in “The Twitter Files”. Every social media site has moderation. Pretending otherwise means you don’t understand how all this works.
Not really, it’s just more one sided hypocrisy from a billionaire baby with a gold spoon in his mouth. It’s stupid, literally I can hop on the adsb flight path and see exactly where his plane is in real time, where it’s parked, when it’s moving. It’s all public data. They weren’t using Twitter to track him, which is the ironic thing and if they were, guess who’s tracking you if Twitter is capable of tracking you real time? The irony is thick!

Because he’s probably lying about it? He’s been trying to get rid of that Jet account since he learned about it, which only really tracks the location of his plane between airports. Now, this “reason” that doesn’t involve planes and isn’t supported by a police report suddenly drops in his lap. It never happened. Further, as the information is PUBLICLY available, don’t you think a stalker would just go to the source even if the account was taken down?
Musk is a very public personality and there is zero established connection between the 500,000 followers of the @elonjet account and the stalker who jumped on the hood of the car carrying the kid. the guy running twitter made the paranoid connection, blurted that out and chopped off accounts

It's debatable it's not fine, but it has been that way for ever, for anyone in the public eye. Doesn't the formerly richest man in the world already have protections in place for his family? Ok you are clearly just listening to Elon's statements and taking them as gospel without any other point of view. This is the exact problem. First the journalists Elon banned were actually investigating the so called 'attack' on his kids. They asked the police department who were aware of the incident but had stated that Elon had not reported any incident to them, or any police. So there is no record of the so called attack. Second. Elon explicitely stated he was going to protect all 1st amendment protected speech. It was ruled by the supreme court that flight departure and arrival info was public information posted by the airports, and the supreme court ruled that that was protected speech under the 1st amendment. All the account was doing was republishing publicly available data from a government website to twitter, he wasn't even adding any other info. So it's all information published by other entities online, that is easily accessed by anyone. So clearly he is being hypocritical. When families of minorities are asking Elon to ban hate speech and speech that clearly is intended to increase violent hate based attacks, as it has been proven that much of the hate speech by Trump for instance was directly linked to increased violent attacks against Asians, black americans, LGBTY community, Islamic people, Jewish people, etc. So many families concerned about the welfare of their children have asked Elon to keep many of the previous rules for Twitter to ban hate speech, speech and encourages violence against a group of people, etc. Elon refused and stated that first amendment speech was too important to ban anyone. So violent attacks against many of those groups. Constant claims that all gay men are 'groomers' etc has caused an increase in violence against gay and lesbian, trans, etc in America. But Elon didn't care one bit. But as soon as someone does something that might result in the same level of violence to his family, suddenly he doesn't care at all about protected speech under the 1st Amendment. Almost like he was just using that as an excuse to allow hate speech on Twitter. Third. Those reporters were not publishing 'assassination coordinates' in their posts. They merely reported on the banning, and on the incident and the lack of police report, etc. They included the name of the person and their account that was banned, that's it. How can you tell the story as journalists accurately without referencing the person banned. And he only banned journalists who were critical of him in the past, there were over accounts mentioning the person who was banned and they didn't have their accounts banned. Elon is being completely hypocritical at best. And worse he is outright lying about these journalists publishing his 'exact location and time'. They just posted the name of the person who was again only reposting publicly available data easily looked up by anyone on flight arrival and departure times in a giant airport. I am not for that site by the way, but if you are letting hate speech because you want to 'protect all 1st amendment speech' and turn around and ban someone for what is 100% supreme court ruled protected speech under the 1st amendment, then clearly people have legit reason to be angry and calling him a liar, and a hypocrite. So he is lying about what these people put in their posts, intentionally misleading people to think they were publishing his actual location. And guess what, those reporters were also reporting that Elon's plan had not even landed in the airport where his wife and kid were supposedly attacked. So they couldn't have used that data to track his kid down if that is really true. I haven't confirmed that. But that seems to be what was reported. Definitely some seriously and blaring descepencies in his story. Including him not reporting it to the police, if someone actually jumped on his ex-wife's car you can bet that's a crime, and with stalkers, etc they always say you need to report all incidents to ensure that you have a record of the attack to use against them if they show up again, so police can actually do something about it. Otherwise they can show up where your kids are and the cops can't do anything. So why would Elon not report it if it really happened as he said. Lastly. He put up a picture of the supposed guy who jumped on his hood, and also showed him and the license plate and asked his followers to 'hunt him down'. Do you know what happened to other people elon has done similar things to. They had open death threats to their families, to the point that they had to quite their job, move to another town and the thing Elon accused them of was later proven to be 100% false. Elon has claimed people are pedophiles multiple times without any proof, which has resulted in those people getting attacked, and doxed, and their lives threatened with zero proof of any thing, Elon was just mad at them. So yea, he's not the angel you are making him out to be. And it is completely still up for debate what really happened at the incident and if there was actually anyone who jumped on the hood etc. Or if Elon just made that up which is why he or his ex-wife never filed a police incident report. This is the issue, you only hear the facts Elon is letting you hear now if you get your news from Twitter..
@@Arrogan28 Elon Musk's new Twitter policy to discourage stalking is not censorship. What the previous Twitter management did, was censorship. The Left is so terrified and angry with Elon Musk that they tried to attack his toddler the other night. It's okey to hate him and to criticize him all day long, but doxxing his real-time location and endangering his family is not okey. All that doxxing that happened the other day lead to a stalker who followed and stalked his children.
@@Mr.Davs2216 You know what you said is true because? I mean the only source you have is Elon on Twitter as he had originally banned all the critics of that narrative. Luckily the internet spoke and Elon's own polls said they should be unbanned so they where. But originally he tried to get away with banning all the journalism looking into his story. First, there was several journalists who talked to the police in the area, who said there were aware of Elon's comments online, but had no report from Elon or Grimes. Which is odd right, you'd think if some guy 'tried to kill his kid' the way you and Elon paint it, he would have at a minimum filed a report? But there was none. Second, even if we give Elon that events did happen, we have no idea who the person is, so making the assumption this was 'leftists' attacking his kid is extremely biased and shows you just want to paint the narrative that is convenient to you, not actual facts. The journalists who were banned didn't post 'his exact time and place' as Elon claimed. He actually said 'assassination times and locations'. all those reporters did was link to the already banned account, so they were just covering the story like any decent journalist. They were NOT DOXING him or his kid, so that is once again false. Third, also banned all of Mastodon links. Which shows you his real intentions. It would be like banning everyone on facebook, or all of Instagram because one account on the platform posted something that Elon didnt' like. That's absolutely insane. Who the hell does that, it hasn't happened I think ever before as far as entire social media platform being banned for the actions of one account. It's nuts. Elon also orignially did a poll asking if they should unban these journalists, and the poll had the unban win easily, and Elon proceeded to throw a hissy fit and immediately ignore the poll. Which proved his entire poll for unbanning Trump was bs. Same thing he would have ignored the results had they not been to his likely. It was only after he got absolutely hammered and Tesla stock dropped another 6% in the next 24hrs that he realized he made a huge mistake and started unbanning some of those journalists. Lastly, that account that started this whole thing was publishing airline arrival and departure times, which is allowed under the 1st amendment, and why Elon wasn't able to kill the site long before using his lawers. What do you think Elon just only found that site now, he had been trying to get his to close that site for a long time and had even offered him money. If the guy/site was breaking any laws(re doxing) do you honestly believe he would not have used his army of lawyer firms to bring that guy down as he has so many others prior. He claims this is for the 'protection of his kid', but when tons of minority groups, asians, LGBTY, black families, asked him to keep Twitter policies regarding hate speech being banned, and Trump as well, pointing to hundreds of studies that have proved without doubt that Trump alone has increased the number of violent hate crime attacks on these groups, like the horrendous shooting last month. When these groups begged Elon to think of the kids that are going to be hurt as the result of his restoration of a good deal more hate speech back on twitter, and the far right accounts that were banned directly for hate speech, Elon laughed and quoted his 1st amendment absolutist claims, that he was 'not going to ban anyone posting speech protected by the 1st amendment'. That account was protected under the 1st amendment as plane arrival and departure times are not considered doxing, etc, as they do not involve the specific location of the person at a specific time, and it is public knowledge he was sharing. So to not care when it is other people's kids and loved ones, but all of a sudden we need to have special exceptions for only his kids is completely tyrannical. I get why he did it, and as a parent it's even somewhat understandable at least why he banned that first account at least. But you can't do that and pretend to be for the 1st amendment, especially when you just ignored the speech that has been linked to violent attacks against Asians, to the LGBTY community, to black americans, to Jewish people, etc. He is making calls based on how he emotionally feels, that is not anything close to a 'bastion of free speech'. Especially when you have radical people like you who think any left leaning person is a monster by default and wants to hurt children. That kind of mental illness is no conducive to running a social media platform with any kind of consistency nor impartial enforcement of rules. I also love how many far right figures who when Elon started there jumped on the 'this will be a home for free speech, and the 1st amendment' innitially beating the we are morally superior drums, that lasted what, 2weeks, before those same people are now saying, "Well it's a private company Elon can do what he wants with it." And then try to claim that because the "left did it first' that makes it fine for them to do it even more blatantly and harder... It's so clear that the right has no morals to begin with, and just use them when they are convenient for an argument's sake, or when they want the left to be 'moral' and 'do the right thing' but as soon as the shoe is on the other foot, suddenly all that matters is 'what you can do' and 'power'. Just like the GOP crying about Obama shouldn't be able to appoint a Supreme Court Justice in the last what Year of his presidency, meanwhile as soon as the roles are reversed, and with barely what a month left, suddenly those exact same republicans are shrugging and saying they are fine with it when Trump appoints Justices in his last few months. It's ridiculous that we even take the right seriously anymore in regards to them pretending to have morals. The only rule they follow is 'own the libs' and 'we are the victims so that justifies whatever horrible thing we think of to do to innocent people'.

So much for Elon Musk being a free-speech absolutist. That is just a stupid thing for him to call himself in the first place anyway. The First Amendment of the U.S. Constitution does not allow people to say anything they want. The example that is always used is that people cannot yell fire when there is no fire in a theater because people can get trampled and killed. A person also cannot incite violence. There is a limit to all the rights in the U.S. Constitution.
The other consideration (as already pointed out) is that the First Amendment is only concerned with government activity. However, Elon did advertise far and wide his a position as a free speech absolutist, therefore it's fair game to hold him to his word. And now we find out that his interpretation of free speech means whatever suits him. It's entirely arbitrary, biased, and egoistic. He's a miserable hypocrite.

it matters because twitters policies now are same for every user, no matter gender, race or politics. formerly it was used by Government bodies to tell twitter which users are spouting miss-info - in short the government pressuring multi-media platforms what info is true or not.
Also, Elon only banned people from positing the link to the page on the website tracking his specific plane. The website itself can be posted, and the pages for anyone else’s plane (Russian oligarchs, CEOs, world leaders) can be posted. So it’s not about anyone else’s safety, he literally is just banning people for posting links to *his plane only.* I don’t think you can get anymore overt in terms of censorship, than that. The information is public, tax-payer funded and published in a public forum. It’s also incredibly important information to the open source intelligence community & journalists, who frequently rely on such data to investigate cases of international fraud, sanction & tax evasion, etc. Note: the FAA has a program for individuals who would like less information to be publicly released about their aircraft. According to public records, Elon has not requested to be a part of such a program. Also, he is stretching “real time location” to mean the location of a plane, a tour bus, a campaign stop, etc. Is it now censored to tweet, “Elon is appearing at such-such town hall for a public event announcing XYZ?” Where is the line? Again, he said a couple of weeks ago Twitter should allow almost all speech up to the point it becomes illegal. The data in question here is so legal, and so public, that it would in fact be illegal for it not to be public. And, Musk regularly posts photos of himself and his children in real time on social media. Censorship of public data shouldn’t be the first step in someone’s personal life to manage security as a public figure. One journalist was even banned for sharing an LAPD news release discussing the case in question. How is that not protected speech? It’s a news release from a police department. Like?! Can the police put out a tweet notifying the public of a “suspect’s” real time location? That suspect hasn’t been convicted of a crime, they’re a private citizen… is that now censored? When you have to ask questions like that, you’re in super deep censorship territory.
It's only bullying when leftist start getting banned. When it was conservative getting banned it was because twitter was a private company that can do what they want. Sucks when the shoes on the other foot, doesn't it?
