Him doing the same job in prison as he did at the Cinnabon also retroactively highlights that his life as Gene was nevertheless a prison: worse so in fact because at least in prison he can unload his guilt and be himself without hiding.

I felt like he actually liked and care about it. Thats why he called the Cinnabon to make sure things were gonna run smooth afterwards.

The theme of the last episode is to rewrite your wrongs. It’s never truly too late to change paths or course, no matter how bad or good it’s been. In the case of Saul, and the entire episode, we were allowed to “time travel” between BB, post-BB, Pre-BCS, and post-BCS and see where Saul could have changed paths. The finale was so thoughtful and profound, honestly very rare in TV these days where everything needs to be about some plot twist or use of violence of sorts. BCS gave an ending that is thematically so perfect.

Specifically, it’s a love story and Jimmy prioritized redeeming himself to Kim over his own freedom. I don’t think he does this if Kim wasn’t in the picture.
@jacksonhansell3796

@@thumper5839 he definitely doesn't. he needed Kim for that confession, but it was also for himself. he admires Kim, and she did what he never had the courage to do.

I think the last episode is the shining moment of Gene's part of the story. Nippy and the other episode were good but kinda goofy. Saul Gone really stuck the landing, though.

I think what’s great is how they managed to tell a surprising end to the story and yet even in the writing room it was the only one that ever fit. It’s like it wrote itself. Brought the whole thing to a close perfectly.

“It’s like it wrote itself”. Well put. That’s the experience any great writer / storyteller has-it flies through them and often they are as intrigued by how it turns out as an audience and then looking back it’s perfect.

Kim should have went to jail too, and the fact she got away just because she feels bad is such bullshit.
@jorozco13yearsago40
@jorozco13yearsago40 Год назад
Not really, it's like Skylar, she was complicit but knew when to draw the line. Also Kim was never involved in Walter White's empire like Saul was, which was the main reason he went to jail. The worst thing she ever did was help get Howard killed and because it can never be proved because no evidence exists and almost all witnesses are dead, except Jimmy, who is in jail anyway. You're just salty.

Kim most likely got sued by Howard's wife for defamation. Other than that, she isn't guilty of the same crimes Jimmy was, so it wouldn't make sense for her to also get life in prison.

They definitely made the right call with how they ended the series. Life in prison is exactly what Jimmy deserves. It's full circle from the very beginning in the episode 103 flashback where Chuck gets him out of prison (and he even betrays when Chuck says "If I do this, don't make a fool of me."). Also, we never truly saw anyone throughout both series go to jail for their actions, so we get to see justice be served while showing a different, deserved ending to close out the BB/BCS world. It's a masterful work of art.

Good ending, I STILL contend a better ending would’ve been Kim and Jimmy smoking the cigarette in the cell…fade to black. Created by a Vince Gilligan.

The best ending of all would’ve been Jesse getting caught in Alaska due to the fact that they found the vacuum cleaners number in the dumpster that Gene left in there… Full circle
