LT was a cheat code before cheat code’s. I remember reading his first book in the 7th grade. The story about him jumping through the guys soft top jeep was insane! The man was born to put the fear of god into QB’s
To this day, I just don’t understand how this dude was doing god knows how many drugs/partying and he was still able to be the best. It’s like this 55-year-old drunk that I used to work with- he would drink EVERY night from the moment he was off work until he went to bed, then he would show up at 5am and outwork EVERYONE on the roof. Some people are just built different man…
Thats 100% facts. You should watch this full video and other times Bill has talked on his greatness. LT was notorious for not even showing up to film, prep, and planning for the defensive schemes against the offense that week, yet with all the partying, drinking, sex, drugs, he somehow knew the offense better than the QB and head coach did 😂 the sick part I recall from one of Bill's old videos is he was explaining how LT was able to recall how every position on the offense was working and what they aimed to do. Bill had a plan obviously just like every DC for a game every week, but LT would legit be like "OK coach this is our plan, this is what they're running and doing, this is what we planned for, but they're doing this, guard is pulling on an inside zone, they're gonna double me, Carson gonna come free, let's do it!" Bill was absolutely stunned 😂 defensive GOAT and im only talking about his IQ mind you, just an unbelievable talent
I worked with a supervisor in the Navy like that. He only got in trouble 2 times for drinking. Everybody loved him, super smart, great cook; sometimes he would cook for the entire crew; outworked everybody
I could be mistaken but I don’t think he even lifted weights that much either. I saw an article where he skipped a lot of the workouts and would just pay the fine. If that’s true that’s just downright not fair
@@dl30wpbobviously those 2 were the best of that time and would probably man handle 90% of today's opponents, but today is faster & stronger so if would be different. 1. Reggie 2. LT 3. AD 4. Watt 5. Bruce Smith 6. Julius Peppers 7. Michael Strahan
Virtually every QB in that era was tough by necessity. The rules governing QB hits were much looser back then so the QBs absorbed serious hits. I feel like there are fews QBs playing today who could survive for very long back then...
There was a story about Bill Parcells wanting to take REGGIE WHITE in the '85 Supplemental Draft imagine if Taylor and White were teammates it would be the equivalent of Jesus and Lucifer playing together if one didn't get to the QB the other would have.
@@MrD0911 It was destroyed by the ex-Giants GM George Young who took LT Garry Zimmerman who didn't want to play in New York.He went to Minnesota instead.
I’ll be back there in a second is TERRIFYING 😂😂😂😂😂 hearing that from LT is equivalent to the fear a child has when he’s in trouble with his parents. Literal fear bro
Bill don't ever get excited. He doesn't laugh or smile when telling a story. EXCEPT....when he's talking about LT. Belichick will get animated and excited as hell when he's talking about LT. You can tell he genuinely loved coaching Lawrence Taylor.
Causes most turnivers in nfl history. They did not count fumbles through most of his career and he caused more than anyone. He was absurd man. Instant game changer
Some of my most favorite memories 😮😢watching giants football 🏈 with my brother and kid nephew 😮😢 mom cooking dinner , great memories of NYC , sad to see what has happen to NYC and the state of New York giants 😮😢
You mention LT to Belichick his eyes light up .When LT was drafted by the Giants he changed the whole dynamic of the team and the league. He was truly a once in a generation player.
He might be better. Might have cleaned up or never started a drug addiction. College football is in a better place for athletes compared to the late 1970's and 1980's college football.
Just imagine one of the Best offensive lines in Hx ( Washington Redskins Hogs) couldn't stop him. Ask Joe Theisman . As a Football player, he was TAYLOR made. The Leader of " THE BIG BLUE WRECKING CREW".
Lawrence Taylor was easily the best defensive player ever to play in the national football League . Along with deion Sanders they're probably the best defensive players I've ever watched play.
LT was special.. I used to think BB was also.. but he seems to bask in trhe glory of people that would succeed with or without him.. Maybe im wrong.. its just my observation.
So people u derstand how great LT was, there is no one with his ability. He was like having Derrick Thomas and Ray Lewis in one player. Fast as Derrick with the power of Ray. Great at both the run or pass.
lt had a genius football iq as well as his insane skills on field. he was sleeping during a meeting & parcels woke him & asked him if he knew what they were taking about. lt gets up goes to the blackboard writes down the entire play that they just erased so he writes it up perfectly then goes back to his spot on the floor sleeping lol. I know goat# is more a media term to start debates get people talking etc like mj said its impossible to say w #goat esp when ur talking guys who never played against eachother as eras are different like when mj played u could actually bang & knock people around in the paint & no foul. the 3 pt line was moved several ft In post 94 & no more Hand checks & the 90s still were around a great center playing always in the post. hitting 5 3s in a game like Reggie & mj did was special. now the whole team takes 30 3's regularly when 10 for a team was above avg. in the 80s & 90s the east was such a brutal conf to play in. being the Eastern conf champ was a huge deal as u had the Celtics the pistons & bulls. while the west after the Lakers was up for grabs. the east it was the Celtics for years than the pistons for 3 years than the bulls 6 x out of 8 straight yrs when mj was out. so if Jordan didn't retire the bulls coupd have won 9 straight easily. I'm counting 99 when mj retired again. the Knicks made the finals w/o Ewing for most of the playoffs.
Well how come they don't call it on the players today, what your saying doesn't make sense, " your saying the tackles he made then are personal fouls today" how explain that one to me because what your saying don't make no sense at all.
@@josephpetrizzojr5340 DUDE.....relax that pee brain of yours for one second and light'n up , take what I said as a slight joke.......and you were lucky enough to watch LT and football back then you'd understand what I'm saying!!! LT would PUNISH YOU for carrying a football on HIS FIELD back then!! POUND POUND POUND and PUNISH YOU!!! ........makes sense now?
“One of the great thing about LT is his love for crack. “ I don’t judge, but I joke. 😂 LT is great but I don’t really care to find out if crack is. I’ll pass it stinks. But Jesus LT and Ray Ray. Those are some scary dudes Rt there.
