What's up Ladies and Gentlemen!? This half guard pass that I do may seem different and more complicated than what is usually taught at most schools. I have reasons for my details that I didn't get across in this video and it bugs me. I hope to do another video soon talking about the why for a couple things and maybe more what ifs! Please stay tuned! 🤙
Thanks for share your experience if you please. I'm from Brazil and a BJJ guy for a long time and I really terrified on how Jiu-jitsu conquer the whole world in such short time creating experts like you and many others in every corner, even in the newest world, like Austrália wich is producing very solid grapplers. I'm sayng: the way you see BJJ and most of all the way you teach in your vídeos is very different the way brazilians do. The work of peaple like you, ChewJitsu and Firas Zahabi, just to mention a few, are leading the gentle art to the next level. Always learning from your videos its a part of my trainning nowadays because its not simply do this and do that this way but a bunch of concepts its explained and you know exactly what and why you doing that stuff.
Didn't care for the video. My thumbs up was given under duress, threat of curse from coach. If his curse is half as effective as the rest of his shit it must be feared. In all seriousness, another just top shelf video. There is no better coach on youtube, there, i finally said it. There's some great stuff out there, but the amount of consistently top tier content from this man is astounding. And it's all gold.
I love when I'm in someone's half guard. I usually pass to mount at will. So many people use it lazy if you are in a half you can just think of it as your dominant position.
I did little striking but would love to compliment it with some very basic and common grappling especially the escapes.. very hard to learn grappling here back home. very few and expensive classes
In my not so humble opinion (joke), I think this is one of the best videos you have ever done due to the Fantastic Details. I look forward to showing this to a friend so we can drill this and feel your positions. Bad Ass Stuff. 🗡👍🥊☝️🤼♂️👊🤸♂️🥋⚔️🙏🤺
It's not ideal, but if you're getting smashed in half and the guy on top gets the knee free; you can bite down lower on the leg to force his knee off the mat. If you're fighting that battle, you have bigger problems. But you can stall the knee pass.
Coach i like the format where you give us a sneak preview of the move in the first 30 seconds, just giving that feedback, thanks. really like the details in this ,especially when you let your students practice it and correct the mistakes, its funny too
thumbs up for now. if I can't pass this purple belt in rolling with this I'll get you a thumb down. by the way I am white belt I have not been successful passing his half guard. joking aside, the best bjj channel !
Thanks coach brian. My coach was a half guard mastahhh. He showed all of this and more. He couldnt articulate it like this though. I am very impressed.
Coach Brian, thank you so much for your videos. The best on youtube!!! You have given me so many solutions to problems I often run into while rolling. Specifically the 200% and the ghost escape have drastically improved my game especially against bigger opponents. Game changers! Love your breakdown of the techniques and also why they work/why other options don't work. The way you explain things just make sense! Video request for you! Im a smaller blue belt from the east coast (165lbs). I have a decent guard and half guard game but when I have a bigger opponent (200lbs+) pass my guard and get me in side control, I have trouble defending against their side control guillotine and darce choke. Please would appreciate a video about this!! Thank you coach OSS!!!!!
That's awesome! Here I was thinking my half guard to Americana is already pretty slick for white belt level, but damn, there's some sweet details there. Looking forward to adding this stuff to my game.
