Yes, I am now aware the the goal post trickery was fake for a commercial. To remind you all...I'm not a football coach, I don't watch football and that was the first time seeing it, so have mercy on old coach lol. Or don't. Your call. Either way, thanks for watching and check out all the other great videos here at PPA!
Also you were confused by ronaldinho tricking the goalie, borrowing his water to throw everyone off. There is no offside on throw ins (out of bounds turnover).
Ronaldinho was the only Barcelona player to have received a standing ovation and applauseby the entire Santiago Bernabeu when he was calling in to be replaced. His performance that day was so good even Real Madrid fans couldn't do anything but applause his performance
When you called him "Magician", you put a smile on my face. Because Football Magician and Smiling Assassin are his nick names on the pitch. He never rages. He always smile. So he doesn't have a hater. No matter which club fan you are. You love Ronaldinho. The actual Football Magician.😊
That's so true, I'm a Chelsea fan so I saw his magic dump my team out the cl a few times. Still adore the man, he was an amazing footballer and will always be a kind soul.
for me as a Brazilian, Ronaldinho was the best player of all time. Always during the games, we never asked which team would win, we just wanted to see what magic the wizard would do that day.
The greatest showman in the game's history. It was so much fun watching Ronaldinho. Today's footballers are like machines with their movements; they've drilled the skills into their databases but Ronnie was totally organic. There are many footballers who have better stats than him but the pleasure of watching his magic is incomparable. 🐐
@SPQSpartacus nah.. Messi's best is still better.. When messi was at his best, busquets just have to tap the ball to him and messi will go past all players easily.. Just look at his goal against Rm in 2011 or do I even have to mention his other solo goals
@@DS-dw3pz the fact that Tu say "still better" And give an explanation with a moment 10 years ago.. Wel in 2011, u should have seen ronaldo running , dribling and taking shots.. Then your brain would have had some knowledge
@@rishiraj1508 I was comparing messi and Ronaldinho and you suddenly talking about Ronaldo so I dk what you crapping.. And also Ronaldo can't dribble past the whole team dumb2.. And the things that you mentioned about Ronaldo just now.. You think messi can't do that lmao?
@@DS-dw3pz ronaldo once dribled the whole liverpool team back in 2006, but his shot didn't go in because it was Liverpool's goalkeeper, unlike some random ahit goalkeeper in laliga against whom messi scored,, I mean it was a tight angle, the goalkeeper probably should have saved it ... The fact that u say messi is the best player is debatable... And messi cannot shoot like ronaldo... Ronaldo can shoot from any part of the pitch,.. He also got a puskas for his knuckles shots
@@rishiraj1508bro.. You comparing that one time and it didn't even go in lmao.. Already proves that messi does it countless times compared to ronaldo .. Plus messi also did it against Real when cr7 was there and he scored that... Who cares if he gt awarded puskas.. It only confirms makes it the best goal of the year.. You talking as if its the best goal of the decade lol and anyways that definitely doesn't determine how good a player is.. Even salah won puskas.. By saying that messi only does it in laliga, you do know right that messi at his best has scored alottt against English teams right?
Funny how you called him a witch because that's exactly how we call him here in Brazil, "bruxo", or witch, in English (or warlock, I'm not sure if witches are female only) Also, about that water bottle trick, he would be considered offside regularly, however, the offside rule does not apply to throw-ins, and his team was taking a throw-in. So the trick was that he was simply trying to look innocent, getting that water, so the defenders would not realize he was actually getting into position for the play.
@@The_Skrub yeah throw ins are weird like that, if you throw the ball in a goal but no one touched it it’s considered to be out of bounds si keeper ball.
Interesting fact: The clip at the end of people clapping is from a Barcelona X Real Madrid match (mortal rivals spanish teams). He had such an outstanding performance that even the opposing team supporters were applauding him by the end.
Further to that fact, Real Madrid fans only ever gave a standing ovation to three opposition players at their home ground, Ronaldinho was the second to have received it, the first was Johan Cruyff (also a Barcelona player at the time), the other being Alessandro Del Piero of Juventus.
Under the original laws of 1863, it was not possible to be offside from a throw-in;[103] however, since the ball was required to be thrown in at right-angles to the touch-line, it would have been unusual for a player to gain significant advantage from being ahead of the ball.[104] In 1877, the throw-in law was changed to allow the ball to be thrown in any direction.[105] The next year (1878) a new law was introduced to allow a player to be offside from a throw-in.[106] This situation lasted until 1920, when the law was altered to prevent a player being offside from a throw-in
The thing about Ronaldinho was not just the amazing ball control and speed, but his change of pace was inhuman. The way he could stop and accelerate while performing skill moves was what made him so dangerous on the run. There is still nobody who could keep up/stop prime Ronaldinho. Every movement would fake you out, even if he followed through with it.
What i actually loved about him was the fact that in his face he was enjoying it. Without having this ego that is common nowadays. It was a pleasure to see him (and the other great brazilian's team pleayers) defaut our national team ovear and over again hahaha
Old man Ronaldo had the same pace ball in feet towards the goal. Efficiency. Ronaldhino just did the same in all directions, without using body for wrestle, while smiling and dribbling the entire opposite team. Art.
Another thing was, that he did unexpected things. Not bc it was hard to see, which move he will do next, more bc he made moves noone before ever did in professional football
I remember that first free kick under the barrier, the sports news here in Spain were talking about how that defense was the tallest in Europe and how could Ronaldiño score a free kick against that defense, then he did that in the match...So epic. Messi is the best but Ronaldiño and Zidane are my childhood heros, both so estetic and great.
One of my first ever memories as a child is that free kick goal vs England. That's when I fell in love with football. That's when Ronaldinho became my favorite ever player.
Regarding the water bottle thing - The offside rule doesn't apply to goal kicks, corner kicks and throw-ins. He would clearly have been offside under normal circumstances - but this was a throw-in, he was fine.
@@mauricioherreracamacho8243 11.3 of the laws of football 2020/2021. Page 101. No offside offense on receiving the ball on a corner kick, a goal kick or a throw-in.
Growing up in the uk at this mans time.... Kmt this man is God when it comes to football.... No one could pull of trick with next level slickness like Ronaldinho
He was and still is my favorite soccer player of all time. I remember going back to Europe to visit my family during the summer time as a kid watching the World Cup and waiting to see him play. Nice throwback video, he’s the goat
Ronaldinho is one of those players who just loved being on the pitch, playing with the ball... always with a big smile on his face. He had fun, and always made sure everyone watching the game would have fun too. I remember watching this legend play and doesnt matter if he's 20 or 35yo, once he has the ball anything could happen. When he came to Atletico-MG(2012), the media said he was done and signing him was a big mistake. Well... fast forward 1 year and Atletico has won the biggest title of their history with Ronaldinho being a leader on and off the pitch. Magic!
He was a player who got me into football, he is always seen with a huge smile in his face, and also got standing ovation from their bitter rival fans ... No one hates RONALDINHO
Most free kickers: up and around the wall. Ronaldinho: under the wall Roberto Carlos: "fuck it, imma kick it so hard and fast, it will go blasting through the wall"
Well Roberto Carlos actually did a few free kicks that seemed to go very clearly directly outside and then somehow they ended up in goals, like "yeah, fuck physics" xD
orgulho de assistir os jogos dele no auge com meu vô, pra qualquer mlk que tinha sonho de ser jogador de futebol, o ronaldinho simplesmente deslizava pelo campo
fights through a tackle and never even thinks about taking a dive instead he keeps his feet and embarrass the opposition a bit more this is why he is my fav player and a joy to watch
He was once the best in the world. He even taught Messi when they played together but he didn't take care of himself that much, he loved partying a lot (and these kind of things) so he had a short career but really, for me, top 3 players in history
So lemme just get some things calrified real quick: 1. The crossbar thing was faked; also the blindfold video. They were both promotional videos and were basically faked. On the first one, it was done by computer, on the second one, his right eye could see. 2. The offside rule does not apply when some specific cases: -Throw-in (what happened) -When the player who is in theoretical offside begins from his own half -When the ball goes backwards (like in a death pass), independently on where the players are, there is no offside There are other exceptions but that's pretty much everything you need to know 3. Ronaldinho was a phenomenal player. He got to Barcelona when the situation was not really positive and changed the club on his own. By that time, his superiority in feild was uncontested. It got to a point where some players didn't even try to stop him, because he always had that extra skill hidden under the boots that allowed him to just destroy anyone. IMO, Ronnie is (even nowadays) the player that had the most superiority when compared to anyone else from his time. 4. His elite carreer ended up being pretty short because of drugs. The videos they've shown where he is wearing red or white t-shirts are basically after his "Europe adventure". 5. Personally, if he had maintained the level he had in Barcelona for three years during some more (8 or so) he could possibly be top 3 players of the whole history. 6. The last thig you saw (stealing the ball from the keeper) was whistled as a foul. He prevented the keeper from doing the whole movement. He then tried in another game to fake that movement in order to make the keeper stop, thinking that he would commit foul. He then waited until the moment where the keeper ended his movement to steal the ball. That second one, even though it didn't go against the rules, was also whistled as a foul. This guy was not only a magician, but tremendously intelligent on the field. Keep it up! Nice vid bro
And also the last moments of the video you watched was that the fans of the big enemy of his former club Barcelona, the Real Madridistas are applauding him, which only happened to a couple of players in the history of football. I was waiting for those two goals he shot for Real Madrid when he got applauded...
Actually the crossbar thing is real on a certain level, he may not he able to hit successfully that many times BUT there is testimonies from his teammates that he was able to hit the crossbar more than once, so even tho the trick might have been exaggerated for the promotion, he can hit the crossbar more than one and still retain the ball, tho he probably couldnt do it more than twice or 3 times
Also his career didnt end because of drugs, more of just alcohol and him showing up drunk to practice or not showing up at all, i dont think there is any evidence of him doing or being on drugs since you would get tested playing on these major teams so just getting a couple of these "facts" correct
Here's a little fact: Only Maradona in the 80' and Ronaldinho in 2000's as Barça players were applauded by the Real Madrid fans. They shoved spectacle and fair play and there the only two by now ho scored against Madrid and the opposite team's fans applauded them. Not even Messi .
He's the embodiment of the pure love of the game. He plays with so much joy...He's like the Jesús of soccer where he and the game became one. #Elevated
Ok, since obviously nobody is willing to answer, I will: the offside rule doesn't apply to throw-ins. Seriously people, the man asked a question. At least one of you should have answered, smh. Peace
Hes the greatest naturally gifted player ever. Such a shame his career didn't last longer coz if it did he would be undisputedly the greatest ever player. Even pele wouldnt be able to argue
missed in this video, the game where ronaldinho is from barcelona and he scores 2 goals against rival real madrid, where the opposing crowd applauds him rare act in soccer .
For #2 the water bottle trick, you can't be offside directly from a goal kick, a corner or a throw-in. So he used the water bottle to make the defenders forget about him and get into an advantageous position in a rare situation.
I’m like you, I’m only familiar with Ronaldinho by name alone. Never got to experience or watch any of his games nor have I watched any highlights of his until now. I’ve got to say, the guy is purely out of this world. A skill that you cant train, and its amazing to even watch him be himself. Wish I was more into the sport of Fútbol when I was younger.
When there is a folding, there is no offside. This is the fact why he could do that. It was a defending mistake in my opinion, but it was a 300IQ moment.
@@playingwithcjprojects9917 it is. Roy Makaay (dutch striker) nicknamed das phantom used the technique to score goals because you cant be offside from a goalkick.
Zlatan Ibrahimovic is one you should look at he has been one of the most physical impressive football players All with martial arts like moves Besides him you have the obvious counter half of cristiano ronaldo, lionel messi who is in my opinion even better being someone closer to Ronaldinho's playstyle
Coach you should react to Sepak Takraw. It is an amazing sport and it's like volleyball but you can't actually contact the ball with your hands! Watch a highlight video of it like Top 5 Sepak Takraw Strikers. I'm sure you will get hyped!
The Magic the Ronaldinho and Zidane was that they not only got away with doing "And1" moves ingame, they actually worked against elite competition. They made them look they made sense.
Cristiano and Ronaldinho are 2 extremes of the geniusly, Ronaldo has all the football and inteligence of the game in his hands to make it efficient to make goals and win, the biggest athlete ever on the football history. now Ronaldinho is the most talented of all time, his ball control is from another world. Ronaldo, the pure athlete, Ronaldinho the pure magic
I had the luck and pleasure of watching Ronaldinho in every game during my childhood when he was in Barcelona FC. I enjoyed so much. He always be the best.
every generation had one outstanding player... pele back in the day, followed by maradona, then ronaldo... were lucky we have the luck to have a few of them now. sometimes they even played against each other or in the same team. Messi, ronaldinho, cristiano for example.
AND1 is a basketball “streetball” brand that is more well known for fancy moves, similar to freestyle football tricks. Just reminded me of it! Thanks for the feedback!
you won't find another player on this planet who moved like Ronaldinho... Not Ronaldo, Messi ANYONE , truly a one of a kind athlete... love the sport more than anything and always had a smile on his face! IMO he's in the top 5 players of all time
