Nobody loves their sports more than me but they are definitely intended to be a distraction. The same billionaire owners of teams are the real reason prices are sky high today. What, the NFL NBA WNBA MLB players even college athletes now (Officially) all are getting way more money than before. The owners too just like the heads of these universities. That money has to be generated from some source. The consumers of their sports and their products and services always end up paying the ticket for millions of $ they seem to just throw around these days.

I disagree. I'm glad that they changed their name and logo but it's still their history. Washington won 3 Super Bowls with that team name and logo and it will forever be a part of the NFL's history. The Miami Dolphins clinched their Perfect Season against that team with that logo. Players won MVPs and have Hall of Fame highlight reels in those uniforms. Fans spent millions of dollars buying merch with that logo and name. The feathers are a nice homage to the team's past without the offensive logo and name. For the record, I've never been a fan of Washington and always referred to them as the 'Skins.

They should have renamed the The Bravehearts and had Mel Gibson as the mascot.

As a lifelong Redskins fan and half native half Mexican America I love this shirt! I also love the name Redskin! There are schools on reservations with the Native American mascot that was the same as the Redskins ! It’s a nothing burger!

Oh man, I used to love this channel. As a Commanders fan i was one of the few who thought we needed the name change but but dear god this has crossed the snowflake line. I think the reason is thanks to your beloved NFL parity. Each team is bound to scrounge up at least one competitive season per decade. I'm 65 year old black man, so understand all too well about racism and a long-time fan, but let's not get it twisted. If the team had been owned by ANY other person, any, other. The name would have been a none issue. The name was originated by Native Americans to refer to themselves, the logo was also designed and approved by Native American leader, Walter S “Blackie” Wetzel, who had designed it, then gave it to Jack Kent Cooke, the team's then owner. A combo of Dan Snyder being sooo bad as an owner and a human being, he was so hated fans and business partners then people like Trump getting involved, (just for the attention) the media went on a feeding frenzy. Where was this same energy towards the, Kansas City Chiefs, who's fans used the "Tomma hawk," chant along with the Florida State Seminoles and other pro sports teams? Not to mention the logos, costumes and symbolism still used. I guarantee you, if anyone else had owned this team, they'd still be called the REDSKINS. Snyder absolutely ruined the organisation. I totally get that you can't please everyone, and I get that, it is what it is. I'd just like people to have a better understanding.

I was born and raised in DC, but; I’m not a fan of the football team. That being said; I don’t see how an off-brand T-shirt is a clear signal to bigots about where the coach stands regarding the team name.

I know this is unscientific but I live in eastern Oklahoma where many Native Americans live. Every one of them that has commented about this to me is 100% in favor of “Redskins”.
