Wow that was just amazing and very well produced ! My father was a good friend of Danny his name was Matt Blade and we also ran the concession stand at Mazzulla field in the late 90s I also remember giving Joe Mazzulla ring pops just stop him from keep coming up to the window at the concession stand. He was about seven or eight great memories.

Big Dan… a coach, a life and a legacy… great job with this tribute… much respect, much love! Well done!

This is a great production. Danny and I were High School rivals. (North Providence/Johnston 76) We were also coaching rivals for many years. In between we played together and laughed together. I can guarantee you one thing. Whether you were playing against Danny or coaching against Danny or even just hanging out with him, you had better bring your best because he always brought the best and was the best. Forget the intensity, I miss the smile. Love you, my friend. RIP

What a great guy! I coached against him in Summer League basketball, and in Middle School Track and Field. He would actually coach my kids while we were competing against each other. He would also give me suggestions and tips in coaching. He would always ask how my sons were doing, and would speak to them to improve their game, even while they were playing against his son. He cared about the big picture and just wanted to help anyone he could. Glad I met him.

His dad coached us in the 80s. Rainone's gym in Johnston. When I saw the name Mazulla with the Celtics, I thought.. "Wait . No way." Pretty special.

That was a fabulous way to honor coach Dan, and so well put together. I like his tough "old school"- but caring attitude. That's so rare nowadays. It seems like he rubbed off on his kids ❤☺

This story reminds me of just what a coach, or teacher like me of second graders, can do. The respect shown by his former players is kind of what I hope my students feel. I hope they know that they are loved and believed in...and I hope that they know that I would take any of them in in an instance, just like Dan. I used to play softball with Dan's sister, Kristen. Watching this documentary made me more fully understand his mentality. It appears that he was "tough," but "tough" in a good way. Life is not easy, but if you work hard, you will be proud of your effort, and that, in its own way, will bring you a piece of mind that will carry with you forever. We, whether a coach, teacher, or not, can positively influence those around us. Be that positive person! I've been a coach; I've been a teacher. You can make so much of a difference!

Well I can only imagine it had to be tough on JO not having his dad there for his NBA Post season as a HEAD COACH himself of their favorite team! #BOSTONCELTICS
